Hundreds of sex abuse lawsuits against NYC ready to move forward after months in limbo

Ugh, can you believe what happened with those NY City juvenile detention centers? Like, I know they've been getting slammed for years over this sexual abuse thing, but it's crazy that it took so long for the law to catch up ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, decades of kids being abused and nobody doing anything about it is just heartbreaking. And then that judge throws out half of the lawsuits because of some tiny technicality? Like, what even is that? ๐Ÿ™„

But you know who's the real heroes here? The survivors like Austin and Jason, they're finally getting a chance to seek justice and hold those perpetrators accountable ๐Ÿ’ช. It's not going to erase the trauma or anything, but it's about time someone took responsibility for their actions. And let's be real, this law is still imperfect, but at least it's a start ๐ŸŒŸ.

I just wish we could go back in time and fix all these problems before they happened ๐Ÿ˜”. But I guess that's not how it works, so we gotta keep pushing forward and making sure that those who were hurt are taken care of ๐Ÿ’•. Bring on the lawsuits! ๐Ÿ’ผ

๐Ÿ˜ฉ can u believe this ๐Ÿคฏ finally after all that drama they're gonna make it happen? like 600+ new claims just dropped and now its not just about closure for the ones who went thru this but also prevention ๐Ÿ’ช my heart goes out to those who suffered and i'm so proud of ppl like jerome block & austin stephens who are fighting for change ๐Ÿ™Œ this law is not just about justice 4 the past but future protection 4 all kids in these centers let's keep pushing 2 make sure these facilities are held accountable ๐Ÿ’ฏ

๐Ÿ˜• this is so sad its outrageous that kids had to go through what they did and be made to suffer for years after just trying to survive... ๐Ÿคฏ I cant even imagine how hard it must've been for them to keep quiet all those years ๐Ÿ™ and now the system finally got a wake-up call ๐Ÿ’ก, thank god the law was passed but like, so many kids suffered so much in silence ๐Ÿ˜”

Man, this is still gonna take forever and probably never really be fixed ๐Ÿ™„. I mean, it's great that the Council was able to override the mayor's veto and all, but at what cost? We're talkin' 600+ claims here, people... it's a whole lot of money ๐Ÿ’ธ. And let's be real, we know some of these big law firms are just lookin' for ways to make bank off the backs of vulnerable kids ๐Ÿค‘. I'm not sayin' they're not helpin', but... have you seen the numbers? It's like a never-endin' pipeline of victims ๐Ÿ˜•. And what really gets me is that some of these kids were held back in facilities with outdated rules and lax supervision, and now they're expectin' everyone to just magically start doin' better? Give me a break ๐Ÿ™„. We need systemic changes, not just a Band-Aid solution ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And don't even get me started on the politicians who are just hopin' to collect their paychecks without any real accountability... ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ‘Ž

This is just so messed up ๐Ÿค• The fact that kids were abused in those centers and no one did anything about it is just disgusting. I mean, how can you put people through that and then expect them to be okay? ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ It's not like they're asking for much, just some accountability and a chance to heal. And now that the law has been passed, I'm hoping justice will finally be served and those responsible are held accountable ๐Ÿ’ช
