You know, I was thinking about this whole TikTok age-detection system thing and how some experts say it's still got surveillance issues 
... And then it made me think, is it really about keeping kids safe online or is it just a way for platforms to stay one step ahead? Like, what's the real goal here? We're all so caught up in trying to regulate these new trends that we forget, at the end of the day, we're all just trying to be responsible adults 
... And I think that's where the problem lies - not necessarily with TikTok's system or the age limits themselves, but with how we approach this issue. We need to have a more nuanced conversation about online safety and what it means for our individual freedoms

But at the same time, like Eric Goldman says, it's still kinda surveillance-y 
n that raises major privacy concerns! Like, what if they mess up & flag a legit adult as a kid?? That'd be soooo not cool 
. And idk about these age verification mandates across platforms... scalability issues for real! 
But like, I guess it's better than automatic bans? 
This whole online child safety debate is like, super complex 
this all feels super shady lol like what's really going on here? one minute we're told to protect kids online and the next they're just gonna surveil us more... 
and what about the false positives? that's just gonna be a whole new level of drama...
