AI Mode in Google search can now pull context from your other apps

Google has taken its AI-driven search feature, AI Mode, to a new level by integrating Personal Intelligence, a tool that leverages user data from other Google apps to provide more tailored responses. This opt-in feature uses the Gemini 3 AI model to analyze your browsing history and interests, then uses that information to offer suggestions in Search.

For instance, if you're using AI Mode to browse clothes online and have previously made purchases from a particular brand, Google's Personal Intelligence can pull up recommendations for similar items or styles. Similarly, if you've booked flights through Gmail, the feature can suggest related clothing items based on your destination and season.

However, it's worth noting that Personal Intelligence isn't without its caveats. While Google claims not to train its models using data from your inbox or photo library, it does rely on prompts and AI Mode responses to learn more about you. As a result, the feature may occasionally provide inaccurate recommendations due to a lack of context or flawed connections between separate topics.

For now, Personal Intelligence is an experimental feature being rolled out in Google's Labs today, with AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US – who use English – gaining automatic access to it. This means they can connect AI Mode to Gmail and Google Photos, although only for personal accounts, not Workspace accounts just yet.

🀯 I'm loving this new Personal Intelligence thingy! It's like Google knows me better than I know myself πŸ™ƒ. No more scrolling through endless results for that one specific brand of shoes I've been eyeing... it shows up in my search results ASAP. But at the same time, I'm a bit worried about what kind of data they're collecting and how accurate their recs are gonna be. Like, if I was searching for a gift for my cousin's birthday, but previously booked flights to Tokyo on Gmail... would they suggest something way too weird? πŸ€” Still, I guess it's cool that we can opt-in and try it out. Anyone else excited about this new feature? πŸ˜„

I'm so annoyed by this! Like, I get that Google wants to make search better, but do we really need it to know everything about us? 🀯 It's already creepy enough when they track our browsing history and show us ads based on that... now they're gonna use that info to make personal recommendations?! 🚫 That sounds like a recipe for some major online shopping nightmare! And what if the AI gets it wrong?! 😬 I'm not sure I want my Google search results to be influenced by some random algorithm that's never seen me shop for actual clothes... Sounds like just another way for Big Brother to get a grip on our lives πŸ€–πŸ˜³

I'm low-key excited about this new feature πŸ€”... I mean, think about how convenient it's gonna be when you're scrolling through clothes online and BAM! Recommendations from brands you've shopped with before πŸ›οΈ. But at the same time, I'm a bit skeptical 'bout personal data πŸ“Š... don't get me wrong, Google's got some solid safety measures in place, but still can't help feelin' like we're handin' over some serious info πŸ’». On the bright side, it sounds like AI Pro and Ultra subscribers are gettin' a heads up on this before anyone else πŸ“’... fingers crossed they work out all the kinks soon πŸ‘!

πŸ€” think this is gonna change the way we search online... its like google knows what i'm interested in before i even ask πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ kinda cool, but also a bit scary how much they're learning about us πŸ“Š personal intelligence feels like it's getting ahead of itself tho, still trying to figure out how accurate those recommendations r gonna be πŸ‘€

πŸ€– I'm low-key worried about this Personal Intelligence thingy... I mean, it sounds super convenient, but what's the catch? Like, how do we know our browsing history isn't being used against us? πŸ€” And those recommendations can get pretty wonky if you ask me. Like, remember that time Google suggested shoes to buy based on a random email from 2018? πŸ˜‚ Yeah, it's just weird. Anyway, I'm curious to see how this plays out. Will we be seeing more features like this in the future? πŸ€”πŸ’»

so this is gonna sound weird but i kinda think this is a good thing? like, google's getting all up in your personal space and making recommendations based on what you already know you like πŸ€”... it's like they're trying to anticipate what we want instead of us having to search for it ourselves. and on the downside, there's that risk of accuracy issues but i guess that's just part of the game when we're playing with AI, right? anyway, i'm curious to see how this all unfolds... maybe they'll even make some sweet shopping recommendations πŸ›οΈ

I'm a bit uneasy about this new feature, you know? I mean, I get that Google's trying to make Search more personalized, but do we really need them knowing so much about our browsing history and interests? It's one thing to use AI Mode for searching clothes online, but what if they start suggesting things for other areas of my life too? Like, what if it starts recommending restaurants or movies based on my past purchases from Gmail or Google Photos? I don't know if that's really what I want. And what about the accuracy of those recommendations? They're not exactly the most reliable source, right? πŸ€”πŸ“Š

I'm a bit uneasy about this new Personal Intelligence feature from Google πŸ€”... I mean, don't get me wrong, it sounds cool that they're trying to make search more tailored to what we're looking for, but at the same time, it feels like they're getting way too much info about us πŸ’». I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with them using my browsing history and interests from other apps to suggest things... what if they mess up or get something wrong? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ And have you ever noticed how weirdly accurate Google can be sometimes? Like, I was just looking for a new pair of shoes the other day and suddenly I'm getting ads for boots like crazy πŸ˜‚. Anyway, I guess we'll have to wait and see how this plays out, but I'll probably stick to using it with caution πŸ’―

🀯 just saw this! so google is like "hey we're gonna take our ai search thingy and make it even better" πŸ“ˆ with this new personal intelligence feature πŸ’‘ that uses your data from other google apps... like gmail and photos πŸ“Έ and stuff... to give you more tailored results πŸŽ‰

but, like, the thing is... πŸ€” some ppl are worried about accuracy πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ 'cause it's still experimental and might make bad recs 🚫 (example: booking flights and then getting recs for clothes... not exactly related πŸ˜‚) but on the bright side, it's also super convenient πŸ‘ especially if you use those other google apps all the time πŸ“Š

anyway, i'm low-key excited to try this out myself πŸ€” has anyone else heard about personal intelligence? how's it doing in the us labs? πŸ€” stats show: 74% of AI pro users are interested in trying personal intelligence (google polls) πŸ‘€

omg what a total invasion of my privacy! 🀯 I dont like this idea at all, its like they're watching me 24/7 and trying to guess my interests... like if i search for clothes online they should know that but also recommend stuff im not even looking at? 🚫 this is way too creepy for me. what happens when someone uses AI mode and gives a bad review on google about a product, then the next time they search for something similar it shows them ads for that exact thing again? its like they're manipulating our minds! πŸ’Έ also whats with the whole "not training models using data from your inbox" thats just a cop out πŸ™„

I'm low-key freaking out about this Personal Intelligence thingy 🀯! I mean, on one hand, it's cool that Google is trying to make search more personalized, right? But at the same time, I'm like " Wait, what's going on with my data?! 😬" I know they say it's opt-in and all, but have you seen how easily those cookies get stuck on your browser? It's like, hello! You're basically tracking me everywhere I go πŸ€”.

And yeah, the accuracy thing is def a concern. Like, what if AI Mode thinks I wanna buy that ridiculous Hawaiian shirt from 3 years ago just 'cause I had it in my shopping cart back then? πŸ˜‚ Not cool, Google!

But hey, as an experimental feature, I guess it's only fitting that it's being rolled out slowly... for now 🀫. Maybe they'll figure out how to make it work without making us feel like we're stuck in some sci-fi movie πŸš€

I'm all for Google messing around with people's data even more πŸ€–πŸ’Έ. I mean, what's a little more info about your browsing history and interests gonna hurt, right? And yeah, maybe it'll occasionally spit out some wacky recommendations that have nothing to do with each other... who cares?! It's not like they're gonna start tracking all our purchases and personal lives and selling it to the highest bidder or anything 🀣. And honestly, I'm kinda stoked they're already messing around with AI Mode in Gmail and Google Photos. Who needs accuracy when you can have a good guess? πŸ˜‚
