Australian taxpayers subsidise rising specialist fees as spending on Abbott-era Medicare safety net 'explodes'

I'm getting so tired of these Medicare safety net changes. The more I think about it 🤯, the more I realize we're essentially subsidizing high-earning specialists here. Like, I get it, they need to be paid, but come on! We already pay for everything through our taxes and now we're footing the bill for their fancy fees too? It's just not right 💸.

And don't even get me started on how this affects people who can't afford regular check-ups. The system is designed to protect us from high out-of-pocket costs, but it seems like it's only looking out for the wealthy and well-connected patients who can keep coming back for more 🤑.

We need some real reform here, not just tweaks to the existing system. I mean, what about the people who are struggling to make ends meet? Shouldn't their healthcare needs be prioritized over those of high-earning specialists? 🤷‍♀️
