Bodies of 17 people found in boat off of Greece’s Crete

😔 this is so heartbreaking my heart goes out to the families of these 17 people, 26 miles at sea, no way they deserved that 💀 can't believe it's happening again on our watch 🤕 I know Greece has been dealing with a lot of migration issues but does anyone ever think about the safety of these ppl? 🌊 it's like they're invisible 🎯 we need to make sure everyone's safe, regardless of where they come from 🌈

😔 this is just another example of how migrant crises are always happening and never get any attention 🤕 news like this always makes me think about the European system and how it's so complicated 🌐 and btw, why does it seem like these people always end up drowning in the middle of the sea? 🌊 can't they just get safe passage to their destination without putting themselves through such risks? also, I know some ppl might say that suspension of asylum hearings is a good idea, but honestly, I think it's a slippery slope where ppl start to lose hope and desperation sets in 💔

I'm literally shaking my head reading about this 🤕. It's just not right that these innocent people lost their lives trying to reach a better life for themselves and their families. The fact that Greece has suspended asylum hearings is just another layer of tragedy - it's like they're taking away any hope the migrants had of starting anew in Europe.

It's amazing to me how far we've fallen as humans, where we have to resort to such measures 🤯. I mean, can't we just provide a safe haven for those who are fleeing war, persecution, or poverty? It's not like it's going to break the bank or strain our resources. The EU needs to step up and take responsibility for its borders, instead of just passing the buck.

And what really gets me is that these numbers are just staggering - 16,770 people in a year alone 😱. We need to do better, we need to be better.

ugh, you know what's crazy? i was just at the beach last weekend and saw this huge flock of seagulls swooping down on a bunch of sandwiches that some kid had left behind 🌴🦅 i swear, those birds are like little pirates, always sniffing out food. anyway, back to this tragic news... it's so heartbreaking to think about all these people losing their lives trying to escape or start anew. i feel bad for the survivors too, being in critical condition and all. 🤕🌊 you know what we need more of? a better system that prioritizes human lives over bureaucratic red tape. and can someone please explain why people would even try such treacherous journeys? like, isn't there anywhere safer to go? 🤷‍♀️

😩 this is just heartbreaking what's going on with these boats? it's like a never-ending nightmare for migrants and our world can't seem to find a way to help them safely... i mean, 26 nautical miles off Crete is still in international waters, so who's responsible for the safety of these people? 🤔 the EU needs to get its act together and figure out a better system for processing asylum seekers... and it's not just about Greece or Turkey, it's about everyone involved... we need more cooperation and less bureaucracy... 💔
