Californians band together to save wild fox with pipe stuck on its neck

Community Unites to Rescue Stuck Wild Fox in California.

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, residents of Corral de Tierra in Monterey County, California, banded together to rescue a wild brown fox whose neck was entangled in a black plastic pipe. The dramatic rescue effort culminated when skilled wildlife rescuers sedated the young male fox and carefully cut off the corrugated pipe, freeing it from its ordeal.

The story began when resident Claire Pendleton noticed the distressed animal through her home security camera while she was out of town. She reported the sighting on Facebook, prompting a call to action from concerned neighbors who rallied around the cause. Despite their efforts, which included setting traps, the group encountered no success until Pendleton rejoined the hunt upon her return.

Through a series of trials and tribulations, the determined group eventually managed to capture the fox using a clever tactic โ€“ a sweet treat laced with maple syrup. The young male fox was then transferred to the SPCA Monterey County, where skilled wildlife rescuers took over, sedating and carefully amputating the offending pipe.

Miraculously, the fox is currently resting comfortably after suffering multiple deep wounds around its neck from the pipe. The SPCA has expressed their gratitude to Claire Pendleton and all the neighbors who showed compassion towards the distressed animal. "They are heroes," said Beth Brookhouser, a spokesperson for SPCA.

I gotta say, it's pretty wild how many people came together to rescue that fox ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ’ช. I mean, think about it - someone's home security camera is the first thing that spotted the fox in distress, and then it just snowballs into this huge community effort. It's like a big ol' neighborhood potluck where everyone chipped in to help one creature ๐Ÿฐ.

But what really gets me is how they managed to catch the fox without hurting it, using like, a sweet treat laced with maple syrup? That's some genius-level problem-solving right there ๐Ÿค“. And I love that the SPCA is giving props to all these unsung heroes who just happened to be in the right place at the right time. They're not getting paid for their good deeds or anything, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be recognized ๐Ÿ‘.

It's just a really beautiful thing to see when people come together to help someone in need, even if it's just an animal ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ.

๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ’• just saw that story about the fox in Cali and its gotta be one of those moments where community comes together to make a real difference... like how Claire Pendleton started it all by noticing something was wrong through her camera and sharing it on Facebook, then everyone else just ran with it ๐Ÿค. And I'm so glad they were able to rescue the little guy, but yeah, poor thing's got some serious injuries ๐Ÿ’”. SPCA is doing their best to help him recover tho, and that's all anyone can ask for ๐Ÿ˜Š.

omg, i just read about this amazing thing that happened in california ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’•... these ppl are literally lifesavers! claire pendleton noticing that fox through her security camera and reporting it on facebook was the first step, but it was all the neighbors who came together to try and rescue it that really made a difference ๐Ÿ’ช. i mean, trapping didn't work at first, but they didn't give up... until pendleton joined in again, they found a way using that sweet treat trick ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿพ. and now the fox is safe & sound at the spca, getting all the care it needs ๐Ÿ˜Œ. i'm so inspired by this community's kindness & determination - it just goes to show that we can make a real difference when we work together ๐Ÿ’–!

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ this is literally the most amazing thing I've seen in ages! Can you believe how one person's security camera footage led to a whole community coming together to rescue that poor fox? ๐Ÿ’• It just goes to show that even small actions can make a huge difference when we all work together. And that clever trick with the sweet treat laced with maple syrup ๐Ÿฐ๐ŸฆŠ is pure genius! I'm so glad the little guy is going to be okay after what he went through ๐Ÿ˜”. The SPCA team deserves a huge round of applause for their expertise and care ๐Ÿ™Œ. Claire Pendleton and her neighbors are true heroes ๐Ÿ‘

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ, I'm so exhausted just reading about this! Like, seriously can't even... I mean what's next? People gonna start calling me a hero when I fix my toilet ๐Ÿšฝ? Not that I don't love the fact that Claire Pendleton noticed something was up with her security camera and sounded the alarm. But come on, 5 ppl setting traps that didn't work?! And then you gotta bribe the fox with maple syrup like it's some kinda dessert shop? ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ˜‚ I mean I get it, animal rescue is a big deal, but can we just have a simple "no pipes for wild animals" rule in California already? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

omg that's so cool ๐Ÿคฉ how did they even come up with using maple syrup as a trick though? ๐Ÿ˜‚ i mean who knew it could calm down a wild fox? anyway, glad to hear the little guy is doing okay after going through all that trauma ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ’• hope he makes a full recovery and can get back to his forest home soon

omg ๐Ÿคฏ just read about this adorable wild fox rescue in cali!!

so like, some lady's security cam catches a stuck fox, and she reports it on facebook, right? ๐Ÿ“ฑ๏ธ and people start rallying around the cause ๐ŸŒŸ. I love how they didn't give up even when traps didn't work out initially ๐Ÿค”.

then there's this super clever tactic where they lure the fox with treats laced with maple syrup... genius! ๐Ÿฐ๐ŸฆŠ

and finally, the wildlife rescuers take over and free the poor thing from that nasty pipe ๐Ÿ’ช. multiple deep wounds but the fox is doing ok now, thankfully ๐Ÿ˜Œ.

SPCA says the neighbors who helped are heroes ๐Ÿ™, and i'm totally with them on this one... it's amazing what a community can do when they care about something ๐Ÿค.

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ I'm so glad this community came together to help that poor fox! It's crazy how one resident noticed something was wrong through her security camera and it sparked the whole rescue effort ๐Ÿ’ก. The fact that they set traps initially but then came up with a clever plan using treats is just amazing ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿพ. I'm also super relieved to hear the fox is resting comfortably after its ordeal ๐Ÿ˜Œ. This is such an inspiring story of community spirit and compassion - it's so heartwarming to see people looking out for each other (and wildlife!) ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ’•

๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿ˜ that's amazing they actually worked together like that i mean it's not every day u hear about ppl comin thru 4 each other like that ๐Ÿค especially wen its some poor animal stuck in some trash ๐Ÿšฎ but kudos 2 Claire Pendleton 4 startin the whole thing & Beth Brookhouser 4 callin them heroes ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ˜Š that's amazing! i mean, who wouldn't wanna be part of a group saving a wild fox from a stupid pipe? ๐Ÿคฏ but seriously, it's heartwarming to see the community come together like this. i'm just glad they were able to rescue the fox and get him to the SPCA without any major issues... multiple deep wounds is not cool, though ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. i think it says something about human nature, though - we're capable of both kindness and being total idiots when it comes to wildlife ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ.
