Center City Restaurant Week Has Been Extended Until February 4 Due to Winter Storm
The economic development organization behind Center City's popular restaurant week has decided to extend the event due to unforeseen closures and cancellations caused by a recent winter storm. The extension, which had initially been set to run until January 31, will now see the discounted prix fixe dinners continue through Wednesday, February 4.
Of the 122 participating restaurants, over 60 have already confirmed their intention to keep their special offers going beyond the original deadline. Restaurant week is designed to boost local businesses during slower months, and in January 2025, it led to a significant increase in service at participating establishments.
The event aims to inject some much-needed life into the dining scene, making any evening feel like a special occasion. As Giavana Suraci Pruiti, Director of Promotions and Activations, noted, "Center City District Restaurant Week gives us the opportunity to step out on a cold winter night." This sentiment is reflected in the previous year's results, which saw a 9% increase in service overall and a 19% increase between 4-10 p.m. at participating businesses compared to surrounding weeks.
Other neighborhoods are also getting into the act, with Northern Liberties' restaurant week already underway until Sunday, February 8. And for those looking forward to March, East Passyunk's 14th annual event is set to take place from Monday, February 23, to Friday, March 6.
