Chick-fil-A Expands Downtown Detroit Presence with New Location

The popular fast-food chain has set its sights on the heart of downtown Detroit, officially opening its first location in the area at 660 Woodward Avenue within the First National Building. The new store is scheduled to open its doors at 8 a.m. on January 15, marking another significant milestone in Chick-fil-A's expansion into the region.

To celebrate this occasion, the company has pledged charitable donations to several Detroit-based organizations, including Gleaners Community Food Bank, Food Rescue US – Detroit, and the Detroit Public Schools Foundation, with each organization receiving $50,000. These contributions aim to support local initiatives, such as the Breithaupt Career and Technical Center Culinary Program.

This downtown location is not the first of its kind in the region; Ann Arbor welcomed Chick-fil-A in December, signaling a continued trend of expansion for the chain. With this latest opening, about 20 stores now operate in the Detroit area, further solidifying Chick-fil-A's presence in the city.

As part of its grand opening, the new store is set to employ approximately 110 workers, contributing to the local job market and injecting a boost into the downtown economy.

just got this news about chick-fil-a expanding downtown detroit... sounds like good vibes for the area 🌞. but i gotta wonder how much of an impact these new jobs will actually have on the community? $50k donations to local orgs is cool and all, but what's the real plan here? are we talking about a trickle-down effect or just a bunch of fast food cash for some bigger corp? 🤑 also, 110 new jobs out of 20+ existing locations seems kinda low... maybe i'm just skeptical 😐

Just saw that Chick-fil-A just opened up shop downtown Detroit! 🍗🎉 Now we can get our fast food fix in the city center. I'm actually kinda excited about this expansion - it's always nice to have more options for foodies on-the-go. And yay for them supporting local orgs too! 💸 $50k donations are no small change, so hopefully they'll make a real difference for those organizations. Can't wait to check out the new location when it opens on Jan 15th 🕰️

im all for more food options in detroit but let's be real chick-fil-a is gonna be super popular & overcrowd our downtown area 🤯💸 also the fact that they're giving out $150k to local orgs sounds great on paper but what about the environmental impact of all those new restaurants? we gotta think about sustainability too, you know? 🌎👀

lol what's up with all these fast food chains taking over downtown areas like Detroit? can't they see we got art galleries and music venues here? 🤷‍♂️

i mean i love a good chicken sandwich as much as the next person, but can't they at least try to blend in a bit? this whole chain-ification thing is kinda boring...

just heard about this new chick-fil-a location downtown detroit 🤔 they're really making an effort to give back to the community by donating to those organizations it's cool to see a business that's not just about profits 💸 but also about supporting local initiatives 😊 hopefully it'll be a great spot for people to grab some food and catch up with friends 👥
