Chick-fil-A Expands Downtown Detroit Presence with New Location
The popular fast-food chain has set its sights on the heart of downtown Detroit, officially opening its first location in the area at 660 Woodward Avenue within the First National Building. The new store is scheduled to open its doors at 8 a.m. on January 15, marking another significant milestone in Chick-fil-A's expansion into the region.
To celebrate this occasion, the company has pledged charitable donations to several Detroit-based organizations, including Gleaners Community Food Bank, Food Rescue US – Detroit, and the Detroit Public Schools Foundation, with each organization receiving $50,000. These contributions aim to support local initiatives, such as the Breithaupt Career and Technical Center Culinary Program.
This downtown location is not the first of its kind in the region; Ann Arbor welcomed Chick-fil-A in December, signaling a continued trend of expansion for the chain. With this latest opening, about 20 stores now operate in the Detroit area, further solidifying Chick-fil-A's presence in the city.
As part of its grand opening, the new store is set to employ approximately 110 workers, contributing to the local job market and injecting a boost into the downtown economy.
