High School Basketball Scores: Mixed Results Across the State
Friday's game nights saw a rollercoaster of scores across various high school basketball leagues. Hyde Park came out strong with a 57-55 win over Perspectives-LT in Red Central action.
In Blue South, DuSable dominated Air Force 104-28, while Maine East secured a 63-50 victory over Highland Park in Central Suburban North.
Niles North thrashed Maine West 98-70 in Central Suburban North. Vernon Hills managed a 45-40 win against Niles West, however.
Evanston's Evanston took on Deerfield, ending with an impressive 75-54 score. Glenbrook North won 50-25 against fellow sibling school Glenbrook South in Central Suburban South.
DePaul Prep outscored Fenwick 62-36 in Chicago Catholic Blue action, while Loyola earned a close win over Brother Rice 41-38.
St. Ignatius outperformed St. Francis 60-40 in the same division. IC Catholic took down St. Francis de Sales 55-49 in another Chicago Catholic White matchup.
Montini emerged victorious against Marmion 57-44, as St. Rita defeated Aurora Central 67-59. Holy Trinity trounced Walther Christian 76-57 in Chicago Prep action.
Aurora Christian secured a 54-50 win over Wheaton Academy in Christian Land League play. Christ the King took on McNamara, coming out on top 45-42.
Hope Academy won against Chicago Christian 61-49 and Northridge emerged victorious 70-54 over St. Edward. Timothy Christian edged Marian Central 58-31.
St. Charles North secured a 62-60 OT win against Lake Park in Dukane action. East Suburban Catholic's Benet bested St. Patrick 53-43, while Marist took down Carmel 55-39.
In Fox Valley play, Burlington Central won 53-32 against Jacobs, and Prairie Ridge defeated Dundee-Crown 41-28. Kaneland emerged victorious in Interstate Eight action with a 58-35 win over Morris.
Johnsburg's Johnsburg thrashed Plano 74-46 in Kishwaukee River action, while Marengo secured a 60-28 victory against Harvard.
Horizon-McKinley defeated British School 57-47 in Lake Shore play. Morgan Park Academy took down Wolcott 43-40.
Newark dominated DePue 77-37 and Serena secured a 47-29 win over Somonauk in Little Ten action.
Elk Grove defeated Wheeling 58-50, while Hoffman Estates outscored Buffalo Grove 63-54 in Mid-Suburban East. Schaumburg took down Conant 53-47.
In Mid-Suburban West play, Fremd emerged victorious against Barrington 54-42 and Hersey beat Prospect 55-37.
Waukegan's Waukegan defeated Zion-Benton 70-41 in North Suburban action. OLSA at Trinity Oaks secured an OT win over OLSHA 50-45.
Gardner-South Wilmington took down Donovan 60-49, while St. Anne won 64-25 against Illinois Lutheran in River Valley play.
Oak Forest defeated Richards 56-37 in South Suburban Crossover action. Oak Lawn emerged victorious against TF South 64-45.
Thornton took down Bloom 50-47 and Thornwood edged Thornridge 72-44, both from the Southland. Plainfield East outperformed Plainfield Central 68-59 in Southwest Prairie East play.
Bolingbrook defeated Yorkville 74-60, while Oswego won against Plainfield North 53-36. Lincoln-Way West lost to Homewood-Flossmoor 71-67 in Southwest Suburban.
Ottawa Marquette took down St. Bede 65-60 in Tri-County play and Roanoke-Benson secured a 73-54 OT win over Dwight.

Downers Grove South took down Proviso East 72-46, while Willowbrook secured a 80-67 win against Addison Trail in West Suburban Gold. Oak Park-River Forest outscored Proviso West 73-64 in West Suburban Silver.
Bremen defeated Universal 76-57 and Clemente won against South Shore 47-46 both from Nonconference.

62-60 is a big difference, but the Patriots pulled it off in the end. You've got to love the drama in high school hoops! 
. And what's up with all these overtime wins? In my day, we didn't need O.T. games to make a game worth watching – we just played until someone won
