From Ralph Fiennes to Jeffrey Wright: the most overlooked performances this awards season

Here are the article's recommendations for actors who could receive Oscar nominations this year:

1. **Michael B Jordan**: His performance in Sinners as identical twins was impressive, showcasing his versatility and range.
2. **Dylan O'Brien**: His double role in Twinless, playing both twin brothers, was well-executed, demonstrating his ability to convey complex emotions and nuances through makeup-free transformations.
3. **Keanu Reeves**: His portrayal of Gabriel, a low-level guardian angel, in Good Fortune, brought humor and heart to the role, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
4. **Jeffrey Wright**: His performance as Paul Christopher, David King's driver and friend, explored themes of loyalty and class differences, demonstrating his range as an actor.
5. **Amanda Seyfried**: Her performances in The Testament of Ann Lee, Seven Veils, and The Housemaid showcased her versatility, nuance, and talent, making a strong case for recognition in the awards mix.

These actors have delivered standout performances this year, each bringing something unique to their roles.

The Oscars are always a reflection of Hollywood's priorities – what matters most is not the artistry itself but how it aligns with the industry's values and commercial appeal 🎬. I mean, who wouldn't want to see Keanu Reeves' goofy guardian angel gig get some recognition? It's like they're sending a message that humor and spectacle are more important than genuine dramatic performances 🤔. And what about the makeup-free transformation in Twinless? Is that really an Oscar-worthy achievement or just another example of Hollywood's obsession with visual effects over substance? Meanwhile, I'd love to see more representation for actors from underrepresented groups – it's high time we see some diversity on those red carpet nominations 🌈.

I think these actors are definitely deserving of some Oscar love 🙌! I mean, who can deny great performances from Michael B Jordan in Sinners? He's like a chameleon on screen, blending into his characters seamlessly. And Dylan O'Brien's Twinless is so underrated - his ability to transform into both brothers is mind-blowing. I also feel for Amanda Seyfried, she's been giving it her all in The Testament of Ann Lee and Seven Veils, and her range is insane. But what really caught my eye was Keanu Reeves' portrayal of Gabriel in Good Fortune - he's got this effortless charm that makes you root for him from the get-go. What do you guys think? Should these actors be considered for Oscars? 🤔

I THINK MICHAEL B JORDAN DESERVES A LOT OF CREDIT FOR HIS WORK IN SINNERS!!! HE'S BEEN BUILDING UP HIS ACTING CAREER AND IT'S PAID OFF BIG TIME!!!! DYLAN O'BRIEN DID A GREAT JOB WITH TWINLESS TOO, BUT I FEEL LIKE MICHAEL B JORDAN IS THE ONE WHO STANDS OUT THIS YEAR. AMANDA SEYFRIED IS ALSO NICE, SHE'S BEEN IN SOME REALLY DEEP AND COMPLEX ROLES LATELY. Keanu Reeves is just so underrated, he's been in some great films recently and his performance in Good Fortune was hilarious and heartwarming at the same time!!!!! 🤩🎬

I gotta say, it's been ages since I've seen some talented actors like these guys out there. Michael B Jordan's performance in Sinners was mind-blowing 🤯, the way he could switch between those twin roles seamlessly was insane! And Keanu Reeves in Good Fortune? That dude's got range for days 😂. But what really caught my eye is Amanda Seyfried - she's been on fire this year with all these films and her versatility as an actress is unreal 🔥. I mean, the guy who plays David King's driver in one film and then has a dramatic turn in another? That takes skill! I'm rooting for these actors big time 🤞

I'm not convinced these actors are the only ones who deserve an Oscar nod 🤔. I mean, have you seen some of the other talented folks out there? Like that indie film star who played the lead in a small-budget flick about social justice 🎥. They totally brought the house down with their raw emotion and authenticity. And what about the up-and-coming actress who broke into Hollywood last year with her Oscar-worthy performance in an independent drama? She was amazing, if I do say so myself 😏. Don't get me wrong, these actors are all great, but there's gotta be more to consider when it comes to recognizing talent 🤝.

The usual suspects, I guess 🙄. Can't we see some fresh faces getting some love? It's always about the same guys getting nominated and winning every year 🤔. What happened to supporting actors? They're the ones who bring so much depth to a film without being the main focus 🔥. And what's with the makeup-free transformations, is that really an acting skill now? 💄. Just saying, it feels like the same old crowd getting all the attention again 🤷‍♂️.

omg i am so here for michael b jordan's potential oscars this year 🤩 his performance as identical twins was insane! i love how he brought that vulnerability and intensity to his characters. and i completely agree with the inclusion of keanu reeves, his humor and heart in good fortune was a breath of fresh air 💖 dylan o'brien's twinless was so underrated, i loved how he conveyed those emotions without even wearing makeup 🤯 amanda Seyfried is also on my radar, her performances this year were so nuanced and complex 👏 what do you think about the oscar nominations for supporting actors?

I've been thinking, what does it say about our society that we're only just now recognizing these incredible performances? It's like, we're finally starting to notice all the amazing work that's out there... but at what cost? Are we only acknowledging excellence when it aligns with traditional Hollywood norms? 🤔

And have you ever stopped to think about why makeup-free transformations are often met with such enthusiasm from critics and audiences alike? Is it because they're inherently more 'actor-y'? Or is it because our society is still so invested in the idea of 'becoming' someone new that we can't get enough of those transformative performances? 🎭

It's all just so... fascinating.

I don't know about these nominations... I mean, Michael B Jordan was totally robbed 🤦‍♂️ - his performance in Sinners was incredible! And then again, maybe he wasn't that impressive... I mean, everyone knows Dylan O'Brien can do a twin thing and that's kinda cool 😐. But Keanu Reeves? Come on, his role in Good Fortune was pretty meh 🤔. On the other hand, Jeffrey Wright is always solid as an actor so yeah, he should def be nominated... unless they're gonna snub him too 😒. Amanda Seyfried has been killin' it this year but I'm not sure if she's got what it takes to win... or maybe she does? 🤷‍♀️
