Baltimore is Set to Get a Taste of Philly with New Geno's Steaks Location Opening Next Month
A piece of Philadelphia's iconic food scene is headed east, as Geno's Steaks is set to expand into the Baltimore market. The new cheesesteak shop will open on March 5 at Power Plant Live!, the city's equivalent of Stateside Live!, and promises a unique dining experience with sit-in service, bar seating, takeout ordering, and delivery through third parties.
Geno's owner Geno Vento expressed his excitement about bringing a piece of Philadelphia's history to Baltimore. "Bringing a piece of our family history and Philadelphia's food culture to Baltimore is truly special, and it's an honor to join such an accomplished and well-respected community of restaurateurs," he said. The new location will offer a range of Geno's signature items, including cheesesteaks, Italian hoagies, and fries.
The move marks another milestone in Geno's expansion efforts, following the opening of locations at sports complexes in South Philadelphia in 2023 and its first foray outside the city with a spot at Power Plant Hampton Roads in Virginia. The brand has also made appearances at Foodie Hall, a virtual food court in Cherry Hill.
Power Plant Live! director Anthony Matteo is particularly thrilled about the new addition, citing his personal connection to the iconic Philly eatery. "Being part of bringing this legendary, family-owned brand to Maryland for the first time is especially meaningful to me," he said. The Power Plant Live! team sees Geno's Steaks as a fitting addition to its venue, which already hosts unforgettable dining, entertainment, live music, and special events.
