George R.R. Martin Almost Planned a Very Different Kind of Targaryen Power for 'Game of Thrones'

I gotta say, I was really surprised by this news 🤯! Back in my day, we didn't have all these fancy power sets like telepathy or pyrokinesis. When I first started reading A Song of Ice and Fire, I loved the dragons just as much as everyone else - who wouldn't want to ride a fire-breathing beast? But it's wild to think that George R.R. Martin had considered something completely different back in the beginning 🤔.

I mean, psychic powers or psionic abilities would've been so cool! It would've added this whole new level of depth to the world of Westeros. And it's crazy to think that a friend convinced him to go with dragons instead 🙄. I guess sometimes it's good to take risks and try something new - that's what made Game of Thrones the hit series it is today 😂.

It's also pretty cool to see how some of these ideas still make an appearance in later shows like House of the Dragon or A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms 👊. The power of storytelling is just amazing, right? It can take us on wild rides and create entire worlds we never knew existed 🌐.

You think this is just about the author's original vision for the series? No way 🤔! I'm telling you, there's more to it than that. The telepathic powers concept was probably too "out there" even for George R.R. Martin, but what if he wanted to keep some of those ideas alive? What if the Targaryens' psychic abilities were just a smokescreen for something more sinister?

I mean, think about it - the fire-breathing aspect is still really convenient, but what if that was just a cover for something else entirely? Maybe the real power behind the Targaryen throne isn't dragons at all, but some kind of psionic control. And Helaena and Daemon's prophetic abilities? That's not just coincidence, my friend 😏.

We should be looking at this from a different angle - what if Martin was trying to hint at something bigger here? What if the entire series is a facade for something more complex? I'm not saying that's definitely the case, but you can't just dismiss it as a minor plot twist. There's always more to the story... 🤫

OMG u guys I just read this article about George R.R. Martin's original vision for Targaryen power and I'm literally shook 😂🔥! So apparently he was gonna make them have telepathic abilities or something and it would've been so cool 🤯... but then he decided to go with dragons and now we're like totally obsessed with those majestic creatures 💫. It's wild thinking about how it all could've turned out differently and what other storylines might've come to life 👀. I mean, can you imagine having a power that lets u read minds or manipulate emotions? 🤔 That would be insane!

I think its kinda cool how George R.R. Martin had this different idea for the Targaryen powers 🤯 But I can understand why he decided to go with dragons instead - they're just so iconic and epic 💥 It makes sense that Phyllis Eisenstein's feedback helped shape the story into what it is today 🙏 And yeah, its interesting how you can still see hints of those original psychic powers in some of the spin-offs 👀

I'm low-key fascinated by how George R.R. Martin's original vision for the Targaryens evolved 🤯! I mean, who wouldn't want to explore telepathic abilities or pyrokinesis? It's wild that his initial concept was influenced by sci-fi stories and he even had a friend like Phyllis Eisenstein nudge him into dragons instead 😊. It just goes to show how these kinds of creative decisions can shape the world we love so much!
