Goodbye June review – Kate Winslet's Christmas heartwarmer is like a two-hour John Lewis ad

πŸŽ„πŸ‘Ž Goodbye June is like watching a Christmas ad on repeat - all heartwarming vibes but zero substance! Kate Winslet shines, but that's about it 😐

Wow πŸ€”πŸŽ„ interesting how Kate Winslet takes on her first directing gig and tries to create a Christmas classic... the cast is indeed impressive but sometimes feels like they're just there for show instead of being fully fleshed out characters πŸ’β€β™€οΈπŸ˜

i dunno about dis movie lol i mean, kate winslet is talented and all, but dis film just feels like every other cheesy christmas drama out dere. its like they took a bunch of feel-good tropes, threw em together, and hoped for the best πŸŽ„πŸ’”. the cast is def on point tho, esp tony collette - she's always good at playing those quirky characters πŸ˜‚. but yeah, it just feels a bit too manufactured for me. gotta admire winslet's effort tho, even if it doesn't quite land πŸ’•.

πŸ€• just saw the trailer for Kate Winslet's 'Goodbye June' and imo its gonna be another cheesy holiday movie πŸŽ„πŸ˜’ like every other one out there. winslet tries her best with a strong cast, but the script feels super formulaic & predictable... cant wait to see how it plays out at the box office πŸ“ˆπŸ‘€

I'm so over these sappy Christmas films πŸŽ„πŸ˜’. I mean, I love Kate Winslet and all, but 'Goodbye June' just feels like a Hallmark special on steroids πŸ’‰. The cast is talented, don't get me wrong - Andrea Riseborough was great in that tense hospital scene, btw! πŸ‘ But the script is just so... on the nose πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. And can we please not have a wordless musical montage? It's just too much 🎡. I want to feel the characters' emotions, not have them hit me over the head with a sledgehammer 🀯. And honestly, Helen Mirren deserves better than this saccharine mess πŸ’”. Give her a film that actually tackles grief and loss, you know? 🎬
