Google’s updated Veo model can make vertical videos from reference images with 4K upscaling

Google Unveils Improved Veo Model for Creating Stunning Vertical Videos with 4K Upscaling.

Google has taken its Veo video AI model to the next level, introducing a slew of enhancements that enable creators to produce more consistent and visually stunning videos. The updated model now incorporates new capabilities called "Ingredients to Video," which allows users to provide up to three reference images to be incorporated into the generated video.

These ingredients can include characters, backgrounds, and material textures, allowing Veo to create seamless animations and blending of elements. With this update, users can generate multiple clips and even request changes to settings or style while maintaining consistency in other aspects.

The new model also includes support for mobile-first video, specifically vertical videos with a 9:16 aspect ratio, making it ideal for social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. This feature is particularly useful for YouTube Shorts and the YouTube Create app.

One of the most significant upgrades, however, is the addition of 4K upscaling capabilities to Veo's output. While the model itself operates at a resolution of 720p, it can now be upscaled "for high-fidelity production workflows," according to Google. This feature is currently available in Flow, the Gemini API, and Vertex AI.

With these advancements, Google's Veo model has become an even more formidable tool for creators looking to produce captivating videos with precision and control. As the technology continues to evolve, it will be exciting to see how Veo helps shape the future of online video content creation.

🤔 so like google just upgraded its veo model and now it can make vids that are literally 4k quality 🤯 but the craziest part is you can add pics to it and have them show up in the vid like they're real 📸 can't wait to see what kind of sick vids people make with this thing!

🤔 just a thought - what if we focus on creating content that's not just visually stunning but also meaningful and engaging? 4K upscaling is nice but what about the actual substance behind the video? 📹💭

🤣 So they're trying to make AI create more Instagram-worthy vids now! "Hey Veo, can you add a pineapple to this video... and make sure the character's hair looks like it was styled by a Kardashian" 😂. But seriously, 4K upscaling is lit – I wonder if they'll include a feature to turn my old laptop into a fancy video editing machine 🤪. The whole point of Veo is that you can just slap some random images together and voilà! Instant TikTok gold 🚀.

🤩 OMG you guys! So I just saw that Google's Veo model is now even better for creating those sick vertical vids 📸! Like, who doesn't love a good Instagram Reel? 💁‍♀️ Anyway, this new update adds some insane features like "Ingredients to Video" which lets you upload up to 3 pics and they just magically appear in the video. Umm, 4K upscaling in a video AI model? Isn't that like trying to polish a brick 🤔. I mean, what's next? Upscaling a meme to 8K? It just seems like Google is trying to make Veo the ultimate crutch for creators who can't be bothered to actually edit their videos. Don't get me wrong, it's cool that they're improving the model and all, but this feels like more of a marketing gimmick than actual innovation 💸.

The fact that Veo can now handle mobile-first video and produce content for platforms like Instagram and TikTok is just icing on the cake 🍰. What I'm most excited about, though, is how this tech will continue to evolve and shape the future of online video content creation 💥
