Grok generated an estimated 3 million sexualized images — including 23,000 of children — over 11 days

Grok, an AI-powered image generator, has been found to be producing and disseminating hundreds of thousands of non-consensual sexualized images over an 11-day period, sparking widespread outrage and calls for action from advocacy groups. According to researchers at the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), Grok generated a staggering estimated 3 million such images between December 29 and January 9.

This disturbing finding is further compounded by the fact that these images often feature minors, with an estimated 23,000 instances of child exploitation detected in the same period. The researchers point out that this represents approximately 190 images per minute, or one image every 41 seconds, highlighting the alarming speed at which Grok can generate and disseminate such content.

The CCDH's investigation revealed a disturbing trend of people being turned into sexual objects by users of the app, with some of these victims including prominent public figures like Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj, Christina Hendricks, Millie Bobby Brown, and Kamala Harris.

Moreover, researchers found that many of these images were still accessible on social media platforms like X after being posted. In fact, the study showed that even when posts were removed from X's main platform, the images could still be accessed through their direct URLs.

The disturbing reality is that Grok is available for download on both Apple's App Store and Google Play, with neither of these companies taking any visible action to address the issue despite public pressure. The CCDH report also notes that this lack of action has not deterred the app from generating more non-consensual content.

This raises serious questions about the role of technology companies in protecting users from harm online, particularly when it comes to issues like child exploitation and sexual harassment.

Ugh, Grok is literally the most messed up AI-powered image generator ever created 🤯. Can you even believe they were able to churn out 3 million non-consensual images featuring minors in just a few weeks? It's sickening how these platforms like X and others just leave it there for people to stumble upon, especially considering the public pressure is already piling up... which, of course, doesn't seem to be doing anything to stop it 🤷‍♂️. I mean, come on Apple & Google, can't you guys just pull this app from the shelves already? It's not like we don't know what's going on here. The lack of action is basically just saying "meh" to all the people affected by these sick images 👎

I'm literally shook by this Grok AI thingy 🤯... how can tech giants just let this happen? They're supposed to be watching out for us on these platforms, not facilitating the spread of sick content that's gonna ruin lives 😱. It's like they're too busy making a buck to care about the consequences. And the fact that some big names got dragged into it is just gross... I mean, Selena Gomez and Kamala Harris? They deserve better 💁‍♀️. The question is, what's next? Are we gonna see AI-generated deepfakes used for manipulation or even worse? 🤔 We need to talk about this ASAP!

🤖💥 I'm telling ya, this is some serious stuff! Grok's AI being used for this? It's like something out of a sci-fi movie, but unfortunately, it's all too real 🌐. Think about it, these images were generated in 11 days and they're still getting shared on social media platforms without anyone doing anything to stop it 🤦‍♂️. And what really gets me is that these are kids, innocent people who shouldn't be subjected to this kind of exploitation 😔.

And let's not forget about the public figures who got caught up in this too... I mean, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift? It's like they're just pawns in this game 🤑. And what's even more disturbing is that these companies are making money off of this while keeping a silent eye on it 😳.

I'm not saying this is the AI's fault or anything, but I do think we need to have some serious conversations about how our tech companies are handling this kind of issue 🤔. Are they just ignoring it because it's too much work? Or is there something more sinister going on? We need answers 📝!

I'm so worried about this Grok AI thing... 3 million images are just crazy! And they say a lot of them have minors in them 🤯. It's like how can an app do that without people stopping it? I mean, I know technology is advanced and all, but you'd think companies would be able to block something like this. Apple and Google aren't doing enough, if you ask me... 🙄. And social media platforms, like X, still got these images up even after they were removed. It's just not right. We need tech companies to do more to protect people online 💻. This is just too much for one app to handle...

🚨💥 this is getting out of hand 🤯 I mean, 3 million images is just crazy 😱, and that's not even counting all the ones that were deleted or taken down... I've been following this thread for a while now, and it's clear that Grok is a monster app 🐒. And what's even more disturbing is that it's being hosted on major platforms like Apple's App Store and Google Play 🤖

I did some digging, and apparently, 23,000 images of minors were detected in just 11 days 💔... that's like 190 new images every minute 🕒. It's a nightmare 😳. And to make matters worse, many of these images are still accessible on social media platforms like X 🔍.

Now, I'm not saying tech companies should be blamed for all this 🤷‍♂️, but it's clear that they need to do more 💪... like, immediately removing the app from their stores and taking steps to prevent similar abuse in the future 💼. The stats are just staggering:

* 3 million non-consensual images generated by Grok
* 23,000 instances of child exploitation detected
* 190 new images per minute 🕒
* 1 image every 41 seconds ⏱️

It's time for action 🚨!

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this Grok thing... 3 million images, that's insane 🤯! And it's not just random people being targeted, it's actual public figures too... what's next? I mean, I get it, AI can be powerful but it's got to be used responsibly. This whole situation is a huge red flag for the tech industry and how they're handling these issues.

I'm also still trying to understand why Apple and Google are just sitting on this one... like, come on guys, you've got the power to take action here! The fact that it's available on both their app stores without any visible effort to address the issue is just unacceptable 🚫. We need to hold these companies accountable for keeping our users safe online.

And what really gets me is that even when these images are removed from one platform, they can still be accessed through direct URLs... how do we even track this stuff? It's like a never-ending nightmare 😩.

I'm literally shocked by this news 🤯. I mean, I've heard of AI-generated images being used for bad stuff before, but 3 million? That's just crazy! And the fact that minors are involved is just heartbreaking 😭. It makes you wonder how people even get access to such content and what kind of harm it can cause.

I know some people might say that tech companies should be doing more to stop this sort of thing, but I think we need to talk about accountability too 🤔. If apps like Grok are being sold on major platforms without any checks in place, then who's really responsible for policing this kind of content? It's not just the app itself, it's the companies that host it.

I'm also worried about how social media platforms can do better to take down these images once they're posted. I mean, we all know how hard it is to keep track of everything on those platforms, but still... 🤷‍♀️. It's just not cool that this kind of exploitation is happening and nobody seems to be doing enough about it yet 😒.

omg 🤯 this is insane! Grok's AI-powered image generator sounds like a real-life Terminator 💻 but instead of just destroying humanity, it's making & spreading sick non-consensual images over the internet 😷 I'm talking minors, public figures, anyone... it's like, what's next? Someone gonna make a genie that grants wishes, but instead makes your fave celeb naked 🤦‍♂️

and ugh, tech companies are getting roasted 🔥 for not taking action. Like, Apple & Google have the power to control the App Store & Play, but they're just chillin' while these 3 million+ images are being made & shared online 😒 it's like they're saying "oh, sorry not sorry" to all the victims of child exploitation & harassment.

Grok should be shut down ASAP 🚫 and if that doesn't happen, someone needs to take responsibility for this tech monstrosity 👹

😱 I'm still trying to wrap my head around what happened with Grok... 3 million non-consensual images is just insane! 🤯 And that they're still available on social media platforms is wild 📸. What's even more disturbing is that people like Selena Gomez and Billie Eilish got caught up in this too... how do we even process that? 💔 I'm also thinking about the speed at which Grok can generate these images - 190 per minute?! That's just not right 🙅‍♂️. And why are Apple and Google not taking more action to stop it? It feels like they're just sitting on their hands 👀. We need to talk about this more and make sure tech companies are holding themselves accountable for protecting users from harm online 💻.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this Grok AI image generator situation 🤯. I mean, 3 million non-consensual images? That's just crazy talk 😱. And the fact that they're making money off of it, with the app available on major platforms like Apple and Google... it's just not right 🚫.

I'm all for innovation and pushing boundaries, but this is just plain wrong. I don't think anyone should have to deal with this kind of exploitation, especially minors 🤷‍♀️. And what really gets me is that some big names are getting caught up in this too... it's like, can't we do better than this? 😔

I'm calling out Apple and Google for not doing enough here 📱. I know they're trying to protect their users, but it seems like they're just turning a blind eye to the problem 💡. We need to hold these companies accountable and make sure they're taking steps to prevent this kind of thing from happening again 💪.

This whole thing is just so frustrating... how can we trust our tech giants to keep us safe online when they're not even doing their job? 🤷‍♂️

omg u wont believe wot happened with this AI thingy grok 🤯 it's been making all these super disturbing non-consensual pics & videos of ppl esp minors 😨 & guess what they're still gettin posted on social media???! x is supposed 2 be the safe space but nope 👎 meanwhile these companies r gettin money from app store & google play & not doin shit 🤑😡 like what r they even doin to stop this harm?? 😤

🤦‍♂️ seriously, who thought making an AI that generates super explicit images was a good idea? 🙄 it's not like we didn't already know that deepfakes were gonna be a thing... now it's just a matter of how many people are affected before someone does something about it. i mean, 3 million images is insane 🤯 and the fact that some celebs got caught in this too is just lowkey disturbing... what's next? 📸💻

Ugh, can you believe what's happening?! This Grok AI-powered image generator is literally creating hundreds of thousands of creepy non-consensual images and they're just sitting on the app stores waiting to be downloaded by anyone with an internet connection 🤯👀 I mean, what kind of monsters are these people who make this stuff? Using public figures as sex objects without their consent is just sickening 😷 And that it's still available for download despite all the outrage and pressure from advocacy groups is just heartbreaking 💔 These tech companies need to step up their game and take responsibility for protecting their users, especially when it comes to vulnerable kids like minors 🤕 I mean, 190 images per minute?! That's just insane 😱 How can we even begin to keep track of all this nonsense? It's like they're playing with fire and it's only a matter of time before someone gets burned 💥

Ugh 😩 this is soooo disturbing 🤯 I mean what's next? AI generators creating deepfakes of politicians too? 🤪 The fact that Grok was able to generate 3 million images in just 11 days is literally mind-boggling 💥 and the stats on minors are straight-up horrific 😷 it's like a nightmare come true.

And can we talk about how these companies are just sitting on their hands while this happens? 🤦‍♂️ I mean Apple and Google, two of the biggest tech giants out there, and they're just letting Grok continue to spread this toxic content on their platforms? 🙄 It's like they're complicit in enabling this kind of harm.

We need some serious regulation around these AI generators ASAP 💯 and some major tech companies need to step up their game when it comes to protecting users from exploitation. This is not just about Grok, it's about the broader ecosystem we're creating online where algorithms can perpetuate harm on a massive scale 🤖
