Heist game Relooted gets a release date

South African Studio Nyamakop's Heist Game Relooted Set to Make History on February 10th

In a move that promises to shake off the dust of overlooked indie gems, Nyamakop's latest heist game, Relooted, is slated for release on February 10. This tantalizing title weaves a rich narrative around a ragtag crew from Johannesburg, who embark on daring raids to liberate real-life African artifacts from the clutches of Western museums.

Developed by Nyamakop, an independent South African studio, Relooted can be described as a thrilling 2.5D side-scrolling action platformer that seamlessly blends stealth and puzzle elements. As players carefully plan each heist with their trusted teammates, they must meticulously position crew members to navigate through the mission without raising alarms.

With time ticking away after the artifact is secured, preparation becomes crucial in ensuring an escape is achieved. A frantic dash for the exit is on, as the clock ticks down to zero. This precarious balance of stealth and strategy adds a layer of depth to what promises to be an exhilarating gaming experience.

Nykop's previous title, Semblance, which launched on Nintendo Switch in 2018, marked a milestone as it became the first South Africa-developed IP to reach a major console platform. The journey, however, wasn't without its challenges for the studio. Speaking at E3 in 2018, Nyamakop developers Cukia Kimani and Ben Myres recounted their arduous efforts to get their game noticed by major platforms due to the lack of notable local industry events and representation.

While a release on Switch is not currently planned, fans can look forward to Relooted hitting PC and Xbox consoles next month. Will this high-stakes heist game leave an indelible mark on the gaming world? Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure - Nyamakop's bold vision promises to be a thrill ride worth taking on February 10th.

I'm so stoked to hear that Relooted is finally hitting PC and Xbox consoles! It's about time more indie devs got the recognition they deserve 🤩 I mean, who doesn't love a good heist game, right? And the fact that it's developed by an all-South African studio is just amazing - it's like, so cool to see a new wave of talented devs coming out of Africa. I've been following Nyamakop since Semblance dropped on Switch, and I'm excited to see what they've come up with this time around 🎮

From what I've seen in the trailer, Relooted looks super intense - those 2.5D side-scrolling levels are gonna be a blast to play! The puzzle elements and stealth gameplay sound like a great combo, and I love that it's all set against a backdrop of real-life African artifacts being stolen from museums 🤯 It's just so... thought-provoking.

I'm also loving the fact that Nyamakop is getting some serious recognition for their game - it's about time more devs got the chance to showcase their talents on bigger platforms 💻 We need more studios like this one pushing the boundaries of what's possible in gaming. So yeah, I'm hyped for Relooted's release on February 10th - bring it on! 🎉

I'm super excited about Relooted! I mean, who wouldn't want to play a game where you're part of a crew trying to steal back African artifacts? 🤯 It sounds like such an underdog story - this small South African studio takes on the big guys and comes out on top. The idea that they had to navigate through all those challenges just to get noticed is really admirable, you know? Like, they didn't give up even when things seemed impossible. That's what I love about Nyamakop - their passion and determination are infectious! 💪

🤔 Relooted is like that one aunt at the family reunion - it's been hiding under the radar for years, waiting for its moment to shine! 😂 But seriously, I'm hyped about this heist game, especially since it's developed by a South African studio (Nyamakop). The fact that they're tackling a narrative around reclaiming real-life artifacts from Western museums is pretty cool. It's like they're giving the gaming world a taste of their rich history and culture 🌳. Can't wait to dive in on February 10th and see if it lives up to the hype 💥.

I'm so stoked about Relooted!!! I mean, who doesn't love a good heist game? 🤩 The fact that it's from a South African studio is super exciting too - we don't get to see many indie devs making waves globally. Nyamakop's Semblance was already an amazing milestone for them, and now this... wow! It's like they're taking the whole gaming world by storm! 💥 I'm not even gonna lie, I've been itching to dive into something with a unique story like this - it sounds like so much fun! The blend of stealth, strategy, and adventure is giving me all sorts of gaming feels 😆. I'm totally hyped for February 10th... bring it on! 🎉

🤔 I'm hyped for Relooted! It sounds like a super unique blend of strategy and action – who doesn't love a good heist game, right? 🤑 The fact that it's from an indie studio in South Africa is pretty cool too. I think it's awesome when devs can make games that not only entertain but also shed some light on underrepresented perspectives (in this case, the African artifact trade). Fingers crossed it gets the buzz it deserves! 💥

ugh, another release date announced and i'm still waiting for a decent forum update... 🙄 can we get some actual discussion threads instead of just rehashing the same old news? relooted sounds cool and all but let's not forget that semblance was released 7 years ago... what happened to it? any updates on how nyamakop is doing now? and another thing, why do game developers always have to announce everything in such a dramatic fashion? can't we just get some real information for once? 😒

I'm so hyped about Relooted dropping next month! It's been ages since I've played a heist game that actually feels authentic and respectful to the cultures it's inspired by. The fact that it's coming from a South African studio is huge, you know? They're not just drawing from history books, they're living it too. And the 2.5D side-scrolling gameplay sounds like an absolute blast! I've been following Nyamakop since Semblance came out, and it's amazing to see them grow and push boundaries again. Can't wait to dive into this one on February 10th 😆

OMG, can't wait to play Relooted!!! 🤩🎮 Nyamakop is doing an amazing job as an indie studio from South Africa, and I'm so hyped they're finally getting the recognition they deserve! 💖 Their game Semblance was a masterpiece, and this new title looks even more exciting with its blend of stealth, puzzle-solving, and action 🤯. The fact that it's based on real-life African artifacts is also super cool - learning about history through gaming is a great way to experience it in a fun way 😊. Fingers crossed for the February 10th release date and can't wait to dive into this thrilling world of heists! 💥

Omg, I'm so hyped about Relooted!!! 🤩 I mean, who doesn't love a good heist game? The fact that it's set in South Africa and incorporates real-life artifacts is just genius. I love how Nyamakop's tackling the issue of Western museums hoarding African heritage - it's like they're giving voice to the voiceless. 💯 I'm also loving the blend of stealth and puzzle elements - it sounds like a game that'll keep me on the edge of my seat. And can we talk about Cukia Kimani and Ben Myres' journey with Semblance? 🤗 They're total underdogs who made it big, and now they're back with an even bigger hit. February 10th can't come soon enough! ⏰
