I'm not sure what's going on with this new host ... seems like he's playing it too safe? I mean, where's the fire? In Our Time was always about sparking tough conversations, and now it feels like they're just dancing around the edges of controversy. Don't get me wrong, Misha Glenny is a solid journalist and all, but this show needs some teeth ... can't wait to see how he navigates the choppy waters ahead
I'm loving the new direction of In Our Time Misha Glenny is doing a great job keeping the show thought-provoking but not so heated that it offends listeners His approach to discussing sensitive topics, like politics and Trump, was super refreshing - no controversy drama, just intelligent analysis . I'm all for the BBC trying new things, especially during these changes . It's gonna be interesting to see how Glenny balances intellectual rigor with audience engagement #InOurTime #MishaGlenny #BBCRadio4
idk about this new host tho ...glenny seems decent but its just not the same without bragg i mean i get it the bbc is tryin to appeal to a broader audience but cant they keep the fire in the debates? and what's up with all these politics topics tho? it feels like they're tryna be more "contemporary" than thought-provoking still, im willin to give glenny some time to settle in & figure out his style
I'm gettin' a bit worried about In Our Time ... I mean, what happened to Melvyn Bragg's bombastic self? The show's always been my fave, but now it feels like they've lost some of that fire under the new host, Misha Glenny. Don't get me wrong, he's a great journalist and all, but it's just not the same without Melvyn's... well, his Melvyn-ness . It feels like they're walking on eggshells around politics now, which is a shame 'cause that's what made In Our Time so iconic in the first place I hope they can find a balance between being thought-provoking and still stirrin' things up every now and then
