I'm thinking... Nipah virus outbreak in India, right?

I remember hearing about this one back in 2018 when Kerala had that major outbreak. Yeah, it was a real scare then too. So many people were worried about traveling to and from India. But, you know, the Indian government has always been on top of things when it comes to public health. They're like, super proactive.
I'm kinda relieved they were able to contain this one in West Bengal. I mean, 40-75% fatality rate? That's crazy!

Makes me glad no one died from this outbreak. But, at the same time, you can't help but think about all those contacts they had to test and monitor... that's a lot of stress for the health authorities.
I'm wondering what triggered this latest outbreak in West Bengal... was it something specific?

Anyway, good on India for keeping everyone safe. Fingers crossed no more Nipah outbreaks anytime soon!
