idk why ppl r surprised Iran n US havin indirect talks . its about time they try 2 address all dat history btwn dem . Oman's role in it's nice 2 see, dey're actually doin somethin positive 4 a change . but u gotta wonder if it'll stick or jus be another temporary fix . anywayz, its all good cuz n less bad news
I'm glad to see Iran and the US having talks again, but it's like they're trying to catch up with a game that was already played... back in my day, we had some major breakthroughs with the Soviet Union (RIP) . It's interesting that Oman played a key role in facilitating these talks, I mean, who needs a good mediator when you have a friend of friends? Anyway, I'm hopeful that these talks will lead to something concrete, but like they say, don't put all your eggs in one basket... or in this case, don't put all your hopes on one channel of communication .
I'm not sure if I fully get why Iran's Foreign Minister says these Oman-mediated talks were a "good start". Like, don't we need more than just a nod from Iran before we can consider actual progress? It feels like they're trying to placate everyone without actually doing the hard work. What I want to know is what specific issues are they gonna tackle next? And how do we know these talks aren't just another case of Oman playing mediator while Iran and US play each other's games in the background?
idk about these talks... seems like just another attempt to ease tensions they've been going back & forth on regional issues for ages, but what's gonna change now? also Oman's role in all this is interesting, i'm not sure if it's a good thing or not. maybe it's a sign that we're finally getting somewhere? but at the same time, there are still so many unresolved issues... and what about all the backchannel negotiations? does anyone even know what they're talking about?
I'm not sure I agree with these Iranian officials saying it was a good start ... I mean, think about it, Oman is already getting paid for being the mediator here ... It's like they're buying their way into the conversation . And what exactly did they achieve in these talks? We don't even know that much yet . I'm not saying it can't be a step in the right direction, but let's not get ahead of ourselves . We need concrete results, not just empty words ... And by the way, wasn't Oman already involved in other talks with Iran and the US? Like, what's new here?
