The New York Jets have wrapped up their search for a new offensive coordinator, having conducted five interviews with top candidates. Frank Reich, widely regarded as the front-runner for the job, is reportedly the favorite to secure the position.
Reich, a former head coach of both the Colts and Panthers, has been in discussions with Jets head coach Aaron Glenn for days. The two share experience working together at the Saints from 2016 to 2020. Reich's impressive resume includes winning a Super Bowl with the Seahawks and his previous stint as an offensive coordinator with the Indianapolis Colts.
Two other veteran coordinators, Darrell Bevell and Greg Roman, are also in the running for the position. Bevell has spent the past four years coaching the quarterbacks at the Dolphins, while Roman most recently served as the Chargers' OC under Jim Harbaugh. However, he was let go after the team's playoff loss to the Patriots.
Lunda Wells rounds out the group of finalists, having been the Cowboys' tight ends coach for six seasons. The Jets have now completed their search and will likely announce Reich as their new OC in the coming days.
