Los Angeles' beloved Hotel Café is set to close its doors for good, but the venue is giving fans one final chance to shine in a charity showcase. The intimate venue, located on Cahuenga Boulevard in Hollywood, has been a hub for up-and-coming artists and musicians for 25 years.
The farewell event will take place on January 29, featuring an impressive lineup of emerging talent including Em Beihold, Love Spells, Carlie Hanson, Niki Rubio, Debbii Dawson, Victoria Canal, and special guests. The showcase is being presented by OnesToWatch, a platform that has helped launch the careers of numerous artists who have previously performed at Hotel Café.
The event will also raise funds for the mental health organization Backline, which provides vital support to music industry professionals, creatives, and their families. Proceeds from the event will be split between Hotel Café itself and Backline, demonstrating a commitment to giving back to both the venue's community and the industry as a whole.
Hotel Café production manager Gia Hughes expressed her excitement about the farewell event, stating: "We can't wait to welcome back these talented artists who had early shows at Hotel Café, taking a moment to reflect on our history on Cahuenga, and the future of what's to come."
While Hotel Café will close its current location in 2026, co-founders Marko Shafer and Max Mamikunian plan to reopen the venue sometime in 2027. The new location will be situated in the Lumina Hollywood building on Sunset Boulevard, offering a more modern experience for both artists and audiences.
The expanded venue promises to honor the intimate soul of the original Hotel Café while introducing new features designed to spark music discovery and support independent artists. Fans can look forward to an exciting new chapter for Hotel Café as it embarks on this next stage in its journey.
Tickets for the farewell showcase are available now, offering one last opportunity for fans to experience the legendary venue in all its glory.
