Leak: Nvidia is about to challenge ‘Intel Inside’ with as many as eight Arm laptops

Nvidia Set to Shake Up Laptop Market with Arm Chips

In a move that could potentially disrupt the Windows laptop market, Nvidia is reportedly preparing to launch its first batch of laptops powered by Arm chips. The company's new N1 and N1X system-on-chip (SoC) will be used in an assortment of devices, including gaming machines, slimbooks, 14-inch, 15-inch, 16-inch models, and 2-in-1 transforming laptops.

According to a leak from Lenovo, the company has built six laptops on Nvidia's upcoming N1 and N1X processors. These include a 15-inch gaming machine, as well as variants of the Ideapad Slim 5 and Yoga Pro 7 series. Additionally, Dell is also rumored to be launching an Alienware gaming laptop with Nvidia N1X SoC by early 2026.

The inclusion of Arm chips in laptops has been a long time coming for Nvidia. The company's Tegra line has powered various consumer devices, including the Nintendo Switch and previous-gen Microsoft Surface tablets. However, these were built in collaboration with MediaTek.

Intel and AMD have traditionally dominated the Windows laptop market, but it appears that their grip on the market may soon be threatened by a new wave of Arm-powered laptops. While details about Nvidia's N1X SoC are scarce, early rumors suggest it may boast as many CUDA cores as a desktop RTX 5070 graphics card and 20 CPU cores.

It remains to be seen how well these new laptops will perform, especially in terms of power consumption and performance compared to traditional Intel-based systems. Nevertheless, Nvidia's entry into the Arm-powered laptop market marks an exciting development for consumers looking for innovative alternatives to their current PCs.

OMG 🤯 Nvidia is about to shake things up with its new Arm chips in laptops! 💻🔥 It's like, finally! Intel and AMD have been dominating this space for ages, but a fresh wave of competition is on the horizon. I'm low-key excited to see how these new laptops will perform - power consumption and performance are gonna be key.

I wonder if we'll start seeing more gaming machines with Arm chips? 🤔 Like, imagine playing games on a 15-inch Alienware laptop that's way more portable than my current rig. 😎 Nvidia's Tegra line has been around for ages, but it's not the same as having their own custom SoC.

I'm also curious about how the laptops will look - are they gonna be sleek and slim like Lenovo's latest models? 📸 Or will we see some crazy gaming machines with all sorts of bells and whistles?

Here's a quick diagram to visualize things:
