Man who attended Stockton birthday party arrested amid mass shooting investigation, DA says

A Man's Attendance at Birthday Party Lands Him Behind Bars Amidst Ongoing Mass Shooting Investigation

A 22-year-old California man who attended a birthday party that turned deadly when four people, including three minors, were killed has been arrested on a parole violation charge related to his attendance. Luciano Guerrero was taken into custody Monday and is currently being held in the county jail without bail.

According to prosecutors, Guerrero is not considered a suspect in the shooting, but his presence at the scene poses a risk due to previous convictions for carrying a loaded firearm as an active gang member and reckless evasion. Court records reveal that Guerrero faces 37 charges, which are largely new additions to existing cases.

Guerrero appeared in court on Thursday and has a scheduled hearing set for December 11. The San Joaquin Sheriff's Office stated that the additional charge of parole violation is the only new one, indicating that authorities were already tracking him prior to his attendance at the birthday party.

The party, which was attended by over 100 people celebrating a 2-year-old's birthday, became a scene of chaos when gunfire erupted. Two 8-year-olds, a 14-year-old, and a 21-year-old lost their lives in the shooting, with 13 others injured. The ongoing manhunt for suspects continues to unfold, with a reward now exceeding $100,000 for information leading to arrests.

The arrest highlights the complexities of parole systems and the importance of addressing parolee behavior that may pose risks to public safety.

omg this is crazy 🤯 like what even is going on here? so some guy shows up to his buddy's birthday party and now he's in jail because of it? i mean i get it, if he's got a history of carrying guns and stuff that's one thing, but attendance at the party? that doesn't seem like enough to warrant 37 charges 🤷‍♂️

i feel bad for the families of those kids who lost their lives though. this whole situation is just so sad 😔 i wish there was a way to prevent these kinds of tragedies from happening in the first place. it's like, how do you know if someone's gonna snap and start shooting? 🤔

🤕 just can't believe this guys attendance at birthday party leads to him being locked up - 37 charges?! seems like he's got a lot to answer for 🚔 police are gonna be looking into all these new convictions and how they relate to the shooting, hopefully they find some solid evidence to bring those involved to justice 💼 and what's with the parole system? it's one thing if you're a convicted felon but not attending a birthday party that turns deadly?! this is why we need to rethink our approach to probation & parole 📝

This is a total breakdown 🤯. I mean, can you believe they're arresting someone for attending a birthday party? It's like, what even is that? 🙄 The system is all messed up. You got this kid with a history of carrying loaded guns and now he gets popped for showing up to a party? That's just crazy. And the fact that they're charging him with parole violation, that's just more proof that the system is out of control. We need to start questioning why we have these strict rules in place if they're not being enforced fairly. It's like, what's the point of even having a parole system if it's just gonna be used as an excuse for arbitrary arrests? 😒 This whole thing just reeks of systemic failure and I'm calling foul 🚫

I'm shocked 😱 at this dude's bad luck. Like, I get it, he had some run-ins with the law in the past, but 37 charges? That's a whole lot of trouble 🤯. I mean, I know California's got tough laws and all, but 22 years old? That's still young! You'd think people would be more willing to give each other a break.

And can you believe he's not even a suspect in the shooting itself? 🤔 It just goes to show how messed up our system is. Like, I'm sure he didn't mean to attend that party or anything, but still... 100+ people showed up, and it turns into a massacre! 🎉 What are the chances, right?

Anyway, my point is, we gotta do better with our parole systems. We gotta find ways to keep people safe without throwing them in jail for no reason. I mean, Luciano's got his whole life ahead of him, and now he's stuck behind bars? It's just not fair 🤷‍♂️.

Ugh 🤯 this is so wild! Like, I'm all about second chances, but if you've got a history of carrying loaded firearms as a gang member... no way 😂 they gotta take care of business ASAP. 37 charges? That's some serious trouble 🚔 I feel bad for the kid, but also super frustrated that his attendance at this party lands him in hot water. It just goes to show you how complicated parole systems can be... you're trying to help someone turn their life around, but then they do something stupid and it all falls apart 😔 anyway, hope they catch those responsible for the shooting and get some justice 💯

Man, this is just crazy 😱... I mean, can you imagine walking into a birthday party where 4 people lost their lives? 🤯 It's one thing for someone to get arrested on a technicality like a parole violation charge, but another for them to be in the same room as some of the most vulnerable people in our community. And what's even crazier is that they're not considered a suspect, which means there might be some other guy out there who actually did something wrong and got away with it.

I think this whole situation highlights how messed up our parole systems can be 🤦‍♂️. I mean, we all want to give people a second chance, but at what cost? If someone's already shown that they're willing to put innocent lives at risk, do you really think a few months on the outside is going to make them turn their life around? It just seems like a waste of resources and time.

And let's not forget about the victims' families who are still trying to process what happened 😔. They deserve some real answers, not just a guy getting locked up on a technicality. I hope they can find some closure soon 👀
