Medusa celebrates grand opening in Detroit’s Midtown - Detroit Metro Times

Medusa Brings Mediterranean Flavor to Detroit's Midtown

Detroit's Midtown neighborhood is set to get a taste of the Mediterranean with the grand opening of Medusa, a new restaurant from renowned chef Anthony Lombardo. Located at 664 Selden St., just down the street from Lombardo's acclaimed Italian restaurant SheWolf Pastificio & Bar, Medusa promises to transport diners to the sun-kissed hills of Sicily and beyond.

At Medusa, food is kept simple yet elegant with a focus on fresh ingredients such as olive oil, capers, olives, tomatoes, and anchovies. Lombardo's vision for the restaurant is to share the rich culinary heritage of Sicily through every dish, from appetizers to desserts, and provide an exceptional dining experience that will educate guests about this unique region.

The building that now houses Medusa has seen its fair share of short-lived restaurants in recent years. However, Lombardo's passion for Mediterranean cuisine and commitment to quality are sure to set Medusa apart. To ensure a smooth opening, reservations are highly recommended through the restaurant's website.

As Detroit's culinary scene continues to evolve, Medusa is poised to become a must-visit destination for foodies eager to explore the flavors of the Mediterranean. With Lombardo's expertise and dedication to quality ingredients, this new restaurant is sure to cast its spell on Midtown.

omg u guys! Medusa sounds like my fave new spot in detroit!!! i'm literally drooling over here thinking about all those fresh ingredients and sicilian vibes 🤤🍝 anthony lombardo is a genius, she wolf pastificio & bar has been a fave of mine for ages and now he's bringing the mediterranean heat to midtown?! this is like the perfect addition to detroit's food scene 🙌 i'm def making reservations ASAP can't wait to try all the dishes from appetizers to desserts 💕

I'm not convinced about this Medusa place yet 😐. I mean, another Italian/Sicilian restaurant in Detroit? It just feels like Lombardo's trying to cash in on his SheWolf Pastificio & Bar fame. Where's the originality? And what makes him think the people of Detroit will suddenly be all about Mediterranean cuisine after years of being known for their Coney Islands and square pizza? 🤔

I'd love to see some hard data on how he plans to attract a crowd, not just relying on his reputation as a chef. Are there any studies on why people choose restaurants like this? And what makes him think the building's past history of short-lived restaurants won't affect Medusa's chances? 📊

Ugh I'm so over all these trendy new restaurants popping up everywhere! Can't we just have a good ol' fashioned diner for once? 🤦‍♂️ But seriously, Medusa sounds kinda cool... I mean who doesn't love Sicily and all that Mediterranean goodness? It's great that Anthony Lombardo is sharing his passion with the city. Hopefully, it'll be one of those places where you can actually get a decent glass of wine too. Reservations already? Okay okay, guess that means we gotta book ahead like normal people now 😒

OMG, 1st day on the menu & it's already getting rave reviews 🤩🍴! Average rating so far is 4.8/5 on Yelp - that's insane! 📊 71% of reviewers are saying the Branzino al Forno is TO DIE FOR 😍🔥. But what I found most interesting is that their average bill comes out to be $45, which is super reasonable considering the quality & portion size 👌. Also, did you know they use a whopping 350 lbs of fresh produce every week? 🤯 That's dedication to sustainability! And if you're wondering how many followers Lombardo has on Instagram, it's over 12k and counting - that's some serious culinary clout 💼!
