I'm kinda worried about Pete Alonso leaving the Mets, you know? They've invested so much into him since he debuted, and it'd be a huge loss if he goes to the Phillies. On one hand, who can blame him for wanting to get paid? He's an elite player and deserves every penny. But at the same time, I feel like the Mets are kinda setting themselves up for failure by not having a solid backup plan in case Alonso leaves. They need to think about their future beyond just one superstar player. Still, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll stay with the team and we can see some more magic from him on the field!
I THINK IT'S SO COOL THAT PETE ALSONO IS GETTING A RECORD SHATTERING DEAL!!! BUT I'M SURE HE'LL BE MISSED BY THE METS FANS IF HE LEAVES!!! IT WOULD BE REALLY BAD FOR THE TEAM WITHOUT HIM, THEY NEED HIS POWER IN THEIR LINEUP!!! BUT AT THE SAME TIME, I GET WHY THE PHILLIES WOULD WANT TO SIGN HIM, THEY NEED A CONSISTENT SOURCE OF POWER TOO!!! I HOPE ALSONO DECIDES TO STAY WITH THE METS, IT WOULD BE AMAZING FOR THEM TO RETAIN ONE OF THEIR BEST PLAYERS!!!
ugh, i'm so over these huge contracts , like what even is the point of paying someone $182 million? does that just guarantee a record-breaking deal or what? and from what i've seen, pete alonso's not exactly on fire right now... can't say i'd be sad to see him go
I mean, can you blame Pete Alonso for looking at that $182 million contract tho ? It's a life-changer! But at the same time, has the Mets really invested enough in him to keep him happy and healthy over the long haul? They've been trying to lock down free agents left and right this offseason... are they just throwing good money after bad ? On the other hand, Philly is definitely in need of a power hitter like Alonso. It's gonna be tough for either team to lose him if he decides to leave
