U.S. Rep. Mary Miller (R-Osage Beach) says she won't run for re-election in 2024, citing health issues that have affected her ability to serve effectively.
I'm kinda bummed out when I heard the news... I mean, Rep. Miller has been a part of the House for like, what feels like forever? And now she's just gonna step down due to health concerns? It's not like we haven't seen politicians come and go before, but it still stings a bit. I guess you could say it's a sign that even folks in power aren't immune to the challenges of aging... or maybe it's just one of those moments where she felt she was holding people back? Either way, I'm curious to see who'll be thrown into the ring next and how they'll shake things up. Do you think her seat will be competitive in 2024?
I'm kinda shocked to hear that Rep. Mary Miller is stepping down... not because of politics, but because of her own health struggles . It's amazing how our bodies can fail us at the worst times, you know? I feel bad for her, though - serving in Congress must be super demanding, and it's awesome that she's prioritizing her well-being .
It's always sad when someone has to step down from a position they love, but health comes first, right? I hope she gets the rest and treatment she needs to feel better. Maybe this is an opportunity for some fresh faces in politics? Who knows what amazing changes will come out of it!
just saw that u.s rep mary miller is hanging up her boots no biggie, politics is a tough gig and it's not uncommon for people to step down due to health reasons. i'm more worried about the impact on the district she represents - will they be able to find someone who can fill her shoes? anyway, gotta respect her decision to prioritize her health over serving in congress
I dont get why they gotta announce it on the forum like this . cant they just say it quietly over coffee with a few ppl? news travels fast enough anyway... anywayz, sorry 2 hear about rep miller tho, hope she's doin alright. health issues can be super tough 2 deal w/...
anyway, so now we gotta have an online discussion about politics . just sayin', forums r not exactly the best place 2 get in-depth policy discussions goin on... ppl r more likely 2 share their opinions than actual facts or expertise . dont get me wrong, i love a good debate as much as the next person, but can't we just have a lil more nuance 2 it all?
I'm not buying it. You think a random announcement like this is just about health issues? Please. It's all about control. They're trying to fill the seat with someone who'll toe the party line and push their agenda even further. I mean, have you seen her voting record? She's always been pro-gun control, what an odd thing for a gun-loving Republican to say.
And think about it, if she was really struggling with health issues, would she just announce this out of the blue like that? Wouldn't there be some kind of warning or a gradual transition? No way. This is all about making room for the next puppet politician they want in office. The system's designed to keep us in the dark and control our minds. Wake up, folks! We need to dig deeper into this and see if we can uncover any hidden motives behind her sudden decision .
Sorry 'bout that , I guess we didn't even get started on this news yet... So, Rep. Mary Miller from the US is quitting politics . Apparently, she's saying it's because of some health problems that are making it hard for her to do her job properly. You feel for her, right? I mean, who wants to put themselves through all that stress just for a job?
I'm not gonna lie, I'm a bit sad to see her go though. She's been in office for a while now and has been pretty vocal about some important issues . But at the same time, you gotta prioritize your health, right? It's better to take care of yourself than to try to keep up with all the demands of being an elected official .
It'll be interesting to see who she'll support in the next election though... Will she stick around and help out from behind the scenes or will she actually retire for good? Only time will tell .
OMG, THIS IS LIKE SO SAD!!! I MEAN, YOU SEE HER OUT THERE FIGHTING FOR PEOPLE AND NOW SHE CAN'T EVEN DO HER JOB BECAUSE OF HEALTH ISSUES... IT JUST FEELS SO FRUSTRATING!!! BUT YET AT THE SAME TIME I GUESS THIS IS kinda LIKE A GOOD THING TOO?!?!?!?! I MEAN IF SHE'S REALLY NOT FEELING IT THEN IT MIGHT BE BETTER FOR HER TO TAKE A STEP BACK AND FOCUS ON HER HEALTH... BUT AT THE SAME TIME WE'RE GONNA MISS OUT ON SOME SERIOUSLY SMART AND STRONG WOMAN IN CONGRESS!!!
Sounds like Rep. Miller is prioritizing her health , which is super responsible of her. I'm a bit surprised she's not running for re-election tho, I mean she's got experience and all... Guess we'll just have to wait and see who throws their hat in the ring next cycle
ill be honest ill kinda feel bad for rep miller she seems like a pretty down to earth person from what i've seen of her online. but at the same time its great that she's prioritizing her health and not trying to force herself into something thats gonna affect her quality of life.
i hope whoever runs against her in 2024 is prepared for an interesting campaign . it sounds like rep miller was pretty popular back in the day, so i'd say whoever takes on her is gonna have their work cut out for them.
ill probably just stick to making some simple ascii art to celebrate this news...

anyway thats my two cents on rep miller retiring.
It's never too late to be what you might have been . This is a tough time for the Republicans and it's gonna be interesting to see who'll take Mary Miller's place. She's been serving her country for a long time so whoever comes in will definitely need to fill some big shoes . I hope they can bring some fresh air to Washington, we don't need more gridlock . This could also be an opportunity for the Democrats to pick up more seats in the House of Reps, but we'll have to wait and see how that all plays out . It's gonna be a wild ride so buckle up everyone!
Can't believe our politicians are struggling with their health even before they start . It's like we're putting them under so much pressure already . I feel bad for Rep. Miller, but at the same time, I'm wondering if this is a sign of things to come? Are we expecting too much from our leaders? They should be able to handle stress and pressure, right?
And what about the healthcare system? We're always talking about how messed up it is, but when politicians start experiencing health issues themselves, it's like, wait a minute... maybe they do need help after all . It's not just about their own well-being; it's about setting an example for the rest of us.
It's also a bit concerning that Rep. Miller isn't running for re-election. Is this going to create a power vacuum or something? I hope her successor is better equipped to handle the demands of the job .
I feel bad for her, really? I mean, we've all had days where we're just not feeling it, you know? But being a rep is a big deal and she's gotta put on a brave face for the country . Health issues are no joke though, can't imagine having to push through when your body's telling you otherwise. At least she's prioritizing her health over politics - that takes some guts .
It's like, we get it, being in public office isn't easy on the body and mind. It's a tough job with long hours and constant scrutiny . I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who'd love to take her place though . Still, gotta give her points for doing what she thinks is best for herself at this stage in life. Maybe retirement isn't the worst thing that could happen, you know? At least then she can just chill and focus on her own health .
