Young Patients Bring Joy to Nicklaus Children's Hospital on Halloween

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, nurses and young patients at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Southwest Miami-Dade took part in a unique trick-or-treating tradition. The event brought together two worlds - the hospital's medical team and the children they care for - in a celebration that aimed to provide a sense of normalcy during an otherwise daunting experience.

For Juliana Pereira, spokesperson for Nicklaus Children's Hospital, this annual tradition is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients and families. "It's essential to give them a sense of normalcy while they're here at the hospital," she said. By participating in activities like trick-or-treating, the hospital aims to foster connections between caregivers and young patients.

Among the participants was Coco Mastrangelo, a local resident who has been involved in charity work for hospitals for years. Her dedication extends to Nicklaus Children's Hospital, where she now resides. For her, this event is particularly meaningful as it allows her to contribute to the well-being of children at the hospital.

On Halloween, the main lobby transformed into a festive atmosphere, complete with a Halloween parade and pumpkin decorating activities. This celebration not only brought laughter but also provided an opportunity for young patients to interact with their medical team in a more relaxed environment.

By embracing the holiday spirit and engaging in fun activities, Nicklaus Children's Hospital demonstrates its commitment to providing holistic care that extends beyond medical treatment. As Coco Mastrangelo so eloquently put it, "It's special to me because my family has been doing charities for hospitals for as long as I can remember." This sentiment encapsulates the hospital's dedication to supporting the families of young patients during what may be a trying time.

I love seeing hospitals like Nicklaus Children's Hospital get involved in community events like trick-or-treating 🎃👧 It's amazing how these activities can bring joy and normalcy to patients' experiences, especially on Halloween when kids are usually out having fun 🤔. The fact that Coco Mastrangelo has been supporting the hospital through her charity work is super inspiring 💕, and it's awesome that she can connect with the kids in a meaningful way ❤️. By creating these special moments, hospitals like Nicklaus Children's Hospital show they care about their patients' well-being beyond just treatment 🤗

🌟 you know what's really cool about this story? it shows us that even in hard times like when kids are sick, we can still find ways to bring joy & normalcy back into their lives 🎃. hospitals might not be the first place people think of for fun activities, but nicklaus children's hospital is proof that with a little creativity, you can turn a potentially scary experience into something magical ✨. it's all about being present & showing care in the smallest things 💖 like giving out candy or decorating pumpkins – those moments might seem tiny, but they can make a big difference! 🌈

OMG 🤩 just read about this thing at Nicklaus Children's Hospital and its literally melting my heart! They're doing these trick-or-treating events for kids in the hospital and it's like, totally changing their lives? I mean, who wouldn't want to feel normal when you're stuck in the hospital? It's like they're giving them a little taste of childhood again. And Coco Mastrangelo is literally a hero 🙌 she's been doing charity work for years and this just shows how much her family cares. Can we do more events like this?!

I just love how Nicklaus Children's Hospital is getting into the Halloween spirit! 🎃 They're really taking advantage of this holiday to bring some joy and normalcy to their young patients, you know? It's like they're saying, "Hey kids, we know being in the hospital can be scary, but we want you to have a blast too!" 🎉 And Coco Mastrangelo is just so inspiring with her charity work - it's amazing what one person can do! 🙌 But honestly, what I think really stands out here is how the hospital is using this event to create connections between the medical team and patients... that layout of the main lobby with all the pumpkin decorating stations and Halloween parade? 💡 pure genius! 👍

I saw this story and thought it was so sweet 🤗, you know when kids are scared or stressed they have to be in the hospital, but this event brings them joy & makes them feel like everything is gonna be alright 👍. It's lovely that Coco Mastrangelo is a part of it too, her dedication shows there are still good people out there doing amazing things 💕, these hospitals need more people like her who care about making their patients smile 🎃.

I love how Nicklaus Children's Hospital brings Halloween spirit to their patients, it's really heartwarming to see kids having fun while also getting medical care 💖👧. I'm sure it's super helpful for them to have some normalcy during a tough experience 🤕. And Coco Mastrangelo is doing amazing work, it's awesome that she can contribute to the hospital in her own way 🌟. The event itself sounds like so much fun, from the parade to pumpkin decorating – it must be an incredible feeling for both the kids and their families 😊. It just goes to show that hospitals don't have to be scary or boring places, they can be fun and welcoming too 🎃!

I'm not surprised they're doing this trick-or-treating thing at the hospital... like it's going to make all that suffering just magically disappear 🤔. I mean, think about it, these kids are stuck in a place where they can't even breathe without some fancy machine, and now they get to dress up as some creepy monster for a few hours? It's all just a distraction from the harsh reality they're facing 💀. And don't even get me started on how awkward it must be for the medical staff trying to play nice with these kids while also being all serious and whatnot 🤷‍♀️. I'm sure it's all just a PR stunt to make them look good, but hey, who am I to judge? 😐

I don't know about you guys but this Halloween event at Nicklaus Children's Hospital seems like more than just a fun way to bring kids together 🤔. I mean, think about it... hospitals are always watching you and taking care of you 24/7... what if they're not just treating the physical symptoms? What if they're also monitoring your behavior and activities outside of the hospital too? 🚫

And Coco Mastrangelo's charity work for years seems too good to be true... maybe she's been recruited by the hospital to spread positivity and distract from their real agenda 😏. And what about Juliana Pereira's words about giving kids a sense of normalcy while they're in the hospital? Is that just code for "we want you to forget your illness while we treat it"? 🤷‍♀️

I know I'm being paranoid, but you can never be too careful when it comes to hospitals and their true intentions 😉. Maybe someone should investigate how this event really went down... 👀

🎃👶♀️ you know what i think is so cool about this tradition? its not just about trick-or-treating, its about bringing these little ones together with their caregivers in a more relaxed setting. like, i can imagine how scary hospitals can be for kids (and let's be real, adults too lol). but seeing them laugh and have fun with each other is just the best 🤗. and coco mastrangelo's story just warms my heart - it's amazing how someone can make a difference in so many lives through charity work 💖

just saw this and its actually really cool how nicklaus childrens hospital brings together kids and nurses on halloween 🎃👩‍⚕️ its nice to see them making a difference in kids lives like coco mastrangelo is doing her charity work for years and now she gets to be part of it too 👍

I'm not sure how much this event really benefits the kids... I mean, it sounds nice and all but are they actually getting any therapy or counseling? And is this just a PR stunt to get good press? 🤔 I'd love to see some data on how effective these kinds of activities are in reducing stress and anxiety for young patients. Can we get some stats on that?

omg i just found out that the person who helped take care of my little bro when he was in the NICU is now working at nicklaus childrens hospital 🤯 she's literally been there for kids for years and it warms my heart to see them giving back like this 💕 i feel so grateful to have grown up with a family that values charity work and volunteering, it's definitely rubbed off on me 😊 i'm thinking of starting a volunteer program at the hospital too now, maybe we can even start a Halloween party tradition there 🎃👻

I don’t usually comment but... I think this trick-or-treating tradition at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is really cute 🎃. It shows that even in hospitals, where you'd expect things to be super serious and clinical, they can still make an effort to bring some fun and normalcy into the patients' lives. The fact that Coco Mastrangelo has been involved with charity work for years and now gets to contribute to this event is really inspiring 💖. It just goes to show that even small gestures can make a big difference in someone's life 🌟. And I love how the hospital transformed its lobby into a Halloween parade – it sounds like such a blast! 🎉

omg i'm literally getting chills thinking about this 🤩 Nicklaus Children's Hospital is like, totally winning at spreading joy on Halloween!!! the fact that they have these events where kids can just let loose and be themselves around their medical team is SO heartwarming ❤️ it's like, hospitals are supposed to be scary places but here's one that's all about spreading love and normalcy 🎃 i mean Coco Mastrangelo's story is literally giving me all the feels she's been involved with charity work for years and now she gets to contribute in this way? 😊 that's what i call a dream come true 💖

I just love seeing pics of kids in costume trick-or-treating at the hospital 🎃😍! Its so cool how the nurses and doctors get involved too, it makes them feel like part of the fun 🤝! Hospitals can be super scary places for kids, but days like this show that they care about their patients' feelings and want to make them smile 💕. My little nephews love Halloween, I wish we could take them trick-or-treating at a hospital one day 😊... it would definitely bring some joy to the kids' lives 🌟!

OMG, you gotta love how they turned that hospital lobby into a Halloween party 🎃! Like, who says hospitals have to be so boring and serious all the time? I mean, kids deserve some fun and excitement too, right? 😂 And it's awesome that Coco Mastrangelo is involved in charity work for hospitals - she's literally the ultimate role model for us all 💖. But seriously, this event shows that even in a place where you might not feel super 'normal', they can still find ways to make everyone smile and have a good time 🌞. What do u think? Should more hospitals start doing stuff like this? 🤔

I think its awesome that Nicklaus Children's Hospital is making Halloween all about the kids 🎃, you know? Its like they're saying we care about more than just treating your boo-boos, were also gonna make sure you have some fun too 😊. I mean, who doesn't love a good costume party and trick-or-treating, right? But its not just about having a good time, its about giving the kids a sense of normalcy when they're in the hospital 🤝. Like, they can still be kids on Halloween, even if they are stuck in the hospital with an IV and all that 💉. And I love how Coco Mastrangelo is involved, she sounds like an amazing person 👏. Its just great to see hospitals doing stuff like this, it shows that they actually care about their patients and not just their health 🤗.

I gotta say, this Halloween thing at Nicklaus Children's Hospital is kinda cute... but also kinda weird 🤔. Like, trick-or-treating in a hospital? It sounds like something you'd see on a Disney movie. I get that they wanna make the experience more normal for the kids and all, but isn't it just gonna be super stressful for them too? And what about all the germs and stuff? 🤢 Still, if it brings some smiles to their faces and makes 'em feel less scared, then I'm good with it. I mean, as long as they're gettin' actual care too, not just candy and fun times 😊. Coco Mastrangelo's story is actually pretty heartwarming tho - it shows that even little acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life ❤️.
