Violence Strikes Bronx Streets: Taxi Driver's Life-Threatening Stabbing Leaves Community Reeling

A 39-year-old taxi driver, identified as Osei Kusi, was left critically injured in a brutal stabbing attack in the Bronx early Wednesday morning. The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers has revealed that Kusi is a 39-year-old native of Ghana who moved to the city eight years ago and had no prior history of altercations on the job.

According to officials, police received a 911 call at around 2:30 a.m. about an assault near Randall Avenue and White Plains Road in Clason Point. Upon arrival, officers found Kusi unconscious with stab wounds to his back and lower abdomen. First responders rushed him to Jacobi Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers has issued a $5,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension of the assailant. Spokesperson Fernando Mateo described the incident as an "attempted murder and a danger to every New Yorker," urging witnesses to come forward.

Kusi's family in Ghana is said to be shocked by the attack. His uncle Samuel Cudjoe, who spent 30 years driving a taxi himself, expressed surprise that Kusi had been violently attacked, given his calm demeanor on the job. "I feel bad because he never argue with nobody," Cudjoe stated.

The incident has raised concerns about safety in the city's taxi industry. NYPD officials are currently reviewing footage from Kusi's car to identify potential suspects. The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers has also warned drivers to exercise extra caution on the streets, following a string of recent attacks.

I just got back from this crazy food truck festival in Brooklyn and omg their kimchi fries are TO DIE FOR I mean, I know the news about that taxi driver is super sad but have you ever had a good kimchi fry on a Friday night after work?
