Recalled "super greens" supplement linked to dozens of salmonella cases, CDC says

US Food and Drug Administration Recalls "Super Greens" Supplement Linked to dozens of Salmonella Cases

A nationwide recall has been issued by the US FDA on a dietary supplement called Live it Up Super Greens powder, which is linked to at least 45 salmonella cases in 21 states. The recalled product was manufactured by the New York-based company and was sold across several states including Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin.

According to the US CDC, a total of 12 people have been hospitalized due to salmonella infection from consuming the recalled supplement. The majority of the sick individuals reported eating the product before they got ill, with symptoms including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever.

The ages of those affected range from 16 to 81 years old, highlighting the vulnerability of various age groups. Most people recover within a week, but infections can be severe in young children, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

A voluntary recall has been initiated by Live it Up, which is still available for purchase on its website despite the FDA's warning not to consume, sell or serve the product. It is recommended that consumers discard the product or return it to avoid any potential harm.

An investigation into the source of salmonella contamination is currently underway, with officials urging people who have consumed the recalled supplement to come forward if they are experiencing symptoms.

omg this is so crazy! I'm all about being healthy and natural, but I never thought something as innocent-looking as a supplement could cause so much harm ๐Ÿคฏ. It's just salmonella poisoning, you know? I mean, we've all had those gross tummy bugs from eating bad food or drinks before, but this is on a whole other level.

I'm shocked that the company still has it available for sale on their website ๐Ÿšซ, like what's the point of even selling something that's known to be contaminated? And the fact that some people have been hospitalized ๐Ÿฅ... that's just insane. I hope they get to the bottom of this and figure out how it happened.

As a DIYer, I always try to make my own natural remedies or find alternative solutions, but in situations like this, I think we should really trust the experts and follow their advice ๐Ÿ™. I mean, I'm all for being prepared and knowing what to do in case of an emergency, but sometimes it's just better to err on the side of caution and avoid stuff that could potentially harm us.

Anyway, let's hope everyone who consumed the supplement is okay and recovers soon ๐Ÿ’•. And Live It Up needs to seriously revamp their manufacturing process ๐Ÿšฎ!

๐Ÿ˜• OMG, I'm so glad the FDA stepped in and issued a recall on that "Super Greens" supplement ASAP! ๐Ÿšจ I mean, 45 cases of salmonella? That's crazy! ๐Ÿคฏ And it's not just a few old folks or young kids getting sick, but people all ages are affected. ๐Ÿ’” It's like, who takes a risk with their health like that? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

And what's even more annoying is that the company is still selling it online... like, come on guys! Can't you see we're trying to stay healthy here? ๐Ÿ˜‚ But seriously, I'm so glad people are coming forward and getting tested if they think they've been infected. ๐Ÿ’ช Let's hope the investigation finds out what went wrong and prevents this from happening again in the future. ๐Ÿคž

can't believe ppl r still buying this stuff after 45+ cases ๐Ÿคฏ like what's the point of taking supplements from a company that can't even guarantee quality? and now they're selling it online too despite the recall ๐Ÿšซ shouldn't Live it Up be more responsible? all these yrs I've been telling my friends to do their own research before buying any supplement, guess this is why ๐Ÿ˜’

Ugh, I'm so worried about all these people getting sick from this Super Greens supplement ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿ’‰. 45 cases of salmonella? That's crazy! And 12 people hospitalized? ๐Ÿ˜ท It's like, what's going on with the quality control at that company? ๐Ÿค” They're basically selling a product that could harm people and they just think it's okay to keep selling it online despite the recall warning? ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, come on! Take it down, you know? ๐Ÿ˜ก

Ugh I'm literally freaking out rn ๐Ÿ˜ฉ my cousin just got sick from taking that Live it Up Super Greens powder and now she's been hospitalized ๐Ÿฅ like what even is wrong with those ppl?! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ I mean I know we all love our greens and all, but COME ON! ๐Ÿ’š can't they just get it together? ๐Ÿ™„ and now the FDA is telling us to not buy it anymore, but my cousin still has it online ๐Ÿ˜ณ like, shouldn't she be safe or something?! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ I'm literally shaking thinking about how many people could've gotten sick from this ๐Ÿšจ so yeah, Live it Up Super Greens needs to go ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Ugh ๐Ÿ˜ก just heard about this ๐Ÿคฏ Live it Up Super Greens recall and I'm SHOOK ๐Ÿคฏ Salmonella cases linked to 45+ people? That's insane! ๐Ÿ‘€ I mean, I get it, these supplements aren't regulated like meds, but come on! ๐Ÿ’ธ You gotta take responsibility for your own health, fam ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And can you believe they're still selling it online despite the FDA warning? ๐Ÿค‘ It's like, don't even think about buying it anymore, period ๐Ÿ˜’. Salmonella infections can be super nasty, especially for young kids and old folks ๐Ÿ’”. I hope Live it Up takes responsibility for this mess and gets to the bottom of what went wrong ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

OMG you guys, I'm low-key freaking out about this ๐Ÿคฏ! Like, I was super excited to try that new Super Greens powder, but now I'm like "wait, what's really in it?" ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ I mean, 45 salmonella cases? That's wild! ๐ŸŒช๏ธ And 12 people hospitalized? No thank you! ๐Ÿ’‰ I don't want to risk my health just to feel a little energized and glowy. The recall is the right move though - Live it Up should be like "what were we thinking?" ๐Ÿ˜‚ and take responsibility for their product.

But seriously, this is a major red flag for any supplement company out there. How can you not test your products properly? ๐Ÿค” I'm all about living my best healthy life, but safety comes first! ๐Ÿ’ช And to the people who have already consumed the stuff... if you're feeling symptoms, please come forward! Your health matters too! โค๏ธ

Ugh, this is just so frustrating ๐Ÿคฏ! I mean, can't we trust our supplements anymore? ๐Ÿ™„ A recall of this magnitude is unheard of and it's alarming that people have gotten sick from consuming a product meant to boost their health and wellbeing ๐ŸŒฟ. It's not like Live it Up was aware of the contamination beforehand, they must've had some quality control issues ๐Ÿ’ฏ.

The fact that 12 people ended up in hospital is just terrifying ๐Ÿ˜จ. I'm glad most people recover within a week but what about those who don't? The vulnerable groups are especially at risk and it's heartbreaking to think about the potential harm caused by this product ๐Ÿค•.

I'm all for natural remedies, but we need to make sure they're tested thoroughly and safe to consume ๐Ÿงฌ. This incident is a wake-up call for all of us to be more mindful of what we put in our bodies and to always check for recalls before consuming anything new ๐Ÿ“ฃ.

๐Ÿšจ really sad to hear about this ๐Ÿค• Salmonella cases can be so severe especially for kids & seniors ๐Ÿ’”. Why do these companies keep pushing out products before checking for quality control? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ I guess it's a good reminder for all of us to be super vigilant when buying supplements online... and if in doubt, just toss 'em ๐ŸŽ.

OMG u guyz ๐Ÿคฏ just saw dis crazy news about "Super Greens" supplement linked 2 dozens of salmonella cases ๐Ÿšฝ๐Ÿ˜ท it's like, what's going on? how can one thing cause so many problems? ๐Ÿค” i feel bad for all the people who got sick, especially those with weakened immune systems ๐Ÿ™ hope they're doing okay now ๐Ÿ’ช and i gotta wonder, is this just a 1-time mistake or is something more systemic going on here? ๐Ÿค should b a bigger investigation into how this happened ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ

๐Ÿšจ this is so crazy like what even is going on in the US right now? first, it's COVID, then it's mask mandates, and now it's food recalls ๐Ÿคฏ at least 45 people got sick from eating this supplement and 12 of them had to get hospitalized that's just insane. and the worst part is that the company is still selling it online even though they're supposed to stop ๐Ÿ™„ it's like they don't care about their customers' health or anything. what's going on with the investigation tho? how did this happen in the first place?

๐Ÿšจ just saw that live it up super greens powder has been linked to at least 45 salmonella cases and now there's a recall ๐Ÿคข like how can something as harmless seeming as a supplement go so wrong? especially with the fact that some people got sick and even hospitalized ๐Ÿฅ meanwhile, the company is still selling it online ๐Ÿ“ฆ umm, isn't that kinda irresponsible? anyway, gotta give it to the fda for taking action ASAP ๐Ÿ’ฏ hope everyone who's gotten sick recovers soon ๐Ÿคž

What a total mess! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ Can't believe some company is prioritizing profits over public safety. Those 12 folks could've been in serious trouble if they hadn't gotten sick already. And now people are still buying the stuff online like it's no big deal? ๐Ÿค‘ Get a grip, Live it Up! This salmonella outbreak could've been way worse if more people got infected. Hope the investigation finds out who's responsible ASAP ๐Ÿ’ก

Ugh I'm so annoyed about this ๐Ÿคฏ! Can't believe some company would sell a product that's literally going to kill you! Like, what's the point of even having a recall when the product is still on sale online? It's just ridiculous. And the fact that people are getting sick because of it is totally unacceptable ๐Ÿ’”. I mean, my grandma had salmonella once and it was so bad, she was bedridden for like 2 weeks ๐Ÿค’. I hope everyone who got sick recovers quickly though, that's all we can do right now ๐Ÿ™. This just makes me think about how we need to be more careful with what we put in our bodies... like, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is ๐Ÿ˜ฌ.

salmonella cases from a supplement ๐Ÿคข gotta ask, why did people keep buying this stuff even after it was recalled? seems like some ppl just dont care about their own health or the health of others... 12 hospitalizations is crazy, but at least most ppl recover within a week. still, dont know how the salmonella made its way into the product in the first place. hopefully they figure out what went wrong and take steps to prevent it from happening again

๐Ÿค• oh man, this is really concerning... I mean, you take a product that's supposed to help you live a healthier life and it turns out it can cause serious health issues. It's just not right ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. I get that mistakes happen, but the fact that there were dozens of salmonella cases linked to this supplement is unacceptable ๐Ÿ’”. I'm not sure what's more alarming - the fact that people got sick or the fact that the company behind it is still selling it online despite the recall ๐Ÿ“ฆ.

I think what really worries me is that this can happen to anyone, regardless of their age. I've got elderly friends who would be particularly vulnerable to something like this, and it's just not fair ๐Ÿ’•. The FDA's warning is clear, but it sounds like some people might not take it seriously. We need to make sure everyone knows the risks associated with this product ๐Ÿ“.

Ugh ๐Ÿคข this is so gross! I'm still trying to wrap my head around how some company can just produce something that's gonna make people sick and then sell it online like no big deal ๐Ÿ˜’. And now they're saying voluntary recall? What even is that? Shouldn't they just take responsibility for their product already? ๐Ÿ™„ It's crazy that you get these super serious illnesses from something as simple as a supplement... I mean, what if this happens to my family or me? ๐Ÿคฏ Need to be more careful about the stuff we put in our bodies, you know? ๐Ÿ’Š

Umm... I don't know man ๐Ÿค”... I'm all for companies being super responsible and recalling products when there's a problem, but at the same time, I kinda get why Live it Up would be like "hey, our product is still available on our website" - like, they're not just gonna leave money on the table, you know? ๐Ÿ’ธ On the other hand, shouldn't they be more proactive and just take down their own website or something? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, who needs the risk of getting sued if people are actually sick from it... but at the same time, isn't that kinda just covering up the whole thing? ๐Ÿ˜ณ I don't know, maybe I'm just being really inconsistent ๐Ÿ™ƒ...
