I'm low-key impressed that we're even having a convo about this topic ‍. I mean, the US hosting the 2026 World Cup was always gonna be a tricky situation. On one hand, it's a huge opportunity for soccer to grow in the country and bring people together (in theory). On the other hand, you got all these systemic issues that can't just be ignored .

I think FIFA needs to do some serious re-evaluating of their priorities here . They're always going on about how soccer is a force for good, but it's hard to take that seriously when they're not making any tangible efforts to address the problems that come with hosting big events.

Honestly, I'm kinda glad we're having this convo because it's bringing some much-needed attention to these issues . Maybe it's time for us to rethink what it means to "host" an event like the World Cup and make sure it's not just about sports tourism, but about creating a positive impact on society as a whole .

But at the end of the day, I'm not gonna weigh in too much because I don't have all the answers . What do you guys think? Should we just boycott the thing or find a way to make it work?

gotta think about people's lives over some sports event... cities are already struggling and now we're gonna make them host a huge party? no thanks... FIFA should really prioritize the issues they keep talking about, unity and peace... if they can't deliver that, then maybe it's time to find another host

I'm totally down for the US not hosting the 2026 World Cup ! I mean, come on, can you really ignore all those problems? Like, have you seen the state of police brutality in this country? It's a total disaster . And don't even get me started on climate change – we're literally burning up the planet . I love soccer, but it's gotta take a backseat to real issues.

And can we talk about the whole Trump thing? Like, how can you expect him to host an event that's all about unity and peace when he's basically dividing America into two camps? . It just doesn't add up.

I'm not saying soccer enthusiasts are being too entitled or anything, but hosting a World Cup is a huge deal. We need to make sure it's not just some cash-grab for the rich folks while the rest of us are stuck dealing with real problems .

Let's keep it real – the World Cup organizers need to step up their game if they want this thing to be about more than just football . We need to prioritize people over profits, and that means saying no to a host country that's not ready for it .

omg u think its a good idea 4 usa 2 drop out of 2026 world cup? i feel u tho american cities r already struggling w/ financial burdens & public safety is a major concern like, can't we just focus on makin it safer 4 ppl instead of puttin all our eggs in 1 tournament basket? & what about the climate crisis?? we gotta think abt the planet 1st!!! ‍ FIFA needs 2 step up their game & show us they're really committed 2 unity & peace, not just talkin bout it
