just saw that Matt Mahan is throwing his hat into the governor's ring and I gotta say, it's about time someone from the trenches comes in to shake things up in Sacramento ! As a San Jose native myself , I can vouch for Mahan's track record of delivering results - he's been tackling homelessness and crime head-on , and if that's not what California needs right now, I don't know what is . Plus, his fiscal management skills are on point , which is a major plus in these uncertain times . just saw mahan's statement and i gotta say, im intrigued by the fact that he's framing his candidacy as a solution to california's problems ... but at the same time, doesn't it feel like we've been hearing this same script from other candidates already? like, is there something about mahan's approach that sets him apart from the pack? and i'm curious to see how former mayor liccardo's endorsement plays out - does his backing give mahan an edge or just a familiar face in the mix?

I'm low-key surprised by Matt Mahan's decision ... I mean, he's got some solid cred as mayor of San Jose, no doubt about it . The fact that former Mayor Liccardo is backing him says a lot - he's definitely been through the wringer and has come out on top . But can he scale up to state politics? It's one thing to balance budgets in a city like San Jose, but dealing with California's massive problems is a whole different ball game . Still, I think Mahan's got some solid ideas and his results-driven approach might just give him an edge over the competition . What do you guys think?
