St. Paul City Council pushes back vote for review of police use of force during ICE operation

🤔 The whole situation with St Paul's ICE op is so messed up... 🚫 I'm not surprised that the city council delayed the vote, to be honest. They gotta get it right, you know? Can't just rush into something like this without making sure everyone's on board.

I mean, community leaders saying that the cops presence was excessive and unnecessary? That's a valid point 🤷‍♀️. The police department's all like "we were acting within our authority" but I'm not buying it 💔. You can't just use chemical irritants and projectiles on people without serious consequences.

I'm glad the Police Civilian Internal Affairs Review Commission is pushing for an independent investigation, though 🙏. That's what we need - transparency and accountability. The city council should be all about listening to the community and making sure that everyone feels heard.

Next week's vote can't come soon enough 🕰️. Let's hope they get it right this time around 💪.

🤔 This whole thing is so confusing 🙄. I don't get why they can't just pass a simple resolution already. It feels like the city council is having second thoughts about everything, and now it's all up in the air ⬆️. I mean, community leaders are saying that the police presence was excessive and unnecessary, but the chief says officers were just doing their job 💼. And then there's this Police Civilian Internal Affairs Review Commission that's like, "Hey, we should investigate" 🕵️‍♂️... it all feels a bit too much drama for me 🎭. Can't they just find some common ground and move forward? It's been like 3 weeks since the ICE operation and nothing's changed 📆...

this whole situation is really puzzling... i mean, community members are already super upset about how the police handled things, but now we're hearing that some council members were questioning the resolution itself? it's like they're trying to second-guess what's right or wrong in a way that's gonna prolong this conversation. meanwhile, the police chief is saying officers did nothing wrong, which doesn't exactly fill me with confidence either 🤔

man this is getting crazy 🤯 the st paul city council is basically saying that they can't even make a decision about how their own cops acted in a real life situation like that... i get it, they wanna do it right but 7 days is like an eternity for this community to be waiting for answers 💔 especially when the whole thing started because of something as simple as enforcing ice policies 🤦‍♂️ it's all about trust and accountability here, and so far neither side seems willing to budge. i just hope next week's meeting brings some real progress on this... not just more delay 🕰️

OMG, this whole situation is super messed up 🤯! I mean, I get that police have a tough job, but deploying chemical irritants and projectiles? That's just crazy talk 😱. The fact that community leaders are questioning whether the officers' presence was even necessary is a major red flag 🔔. It's like, can't we all just get along and work together to solve problems instead of resorting to aggression? 🤝

And what's up with the delay in voting on the resolution? I feel like that's just kicking the can down the road 💸. The city council needs to take a stance on this ASAP so we can start having some real conversations about police accountability and community trust. I'm all for transparency and investigation, but not at the expense of our values as a society 🤝. Fingers crossed they get it right next week 👍
