A suspect in connection with the shooting of New York Jets player Kris Boyd has been arrested, authorities confirmed late Tuesday.
Fredrick Green, identified as 20-year-old Fredrick Green, was taken into custody Monday in Buffalo by U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force. Alongside attempted murder, he is also facing assault and criminal possession of a weapon charges.
The suspect allegedly fled the scene following Boyd's shooting on November 16th. The incident reportedly occurred when an exchange of words between Boyd, accompanied by two other Jets players and a friend, turned into a confrontation with another group "chirping" about their clothes.
New York Police Department confirmed Boyd was shot in his abdomen during the incident at around 2 am outside the Sei Less restaurant on West 38th Street. He underwent multiple treatments for a bullet lodged in his lung at Bellevue Hospital and later posted an update to his Instagram account, stating he had begun breathing on his own.
Boyd has been recovering from his injuries but made headlines once again when he paid a surprise visit to the Jets' team facility on December 3rd.
