I'm freaking out just thinking about this new case and how it could impact our justice system. The idea that states would get more leeway to execute people with "marginal" claims of intellectual disability is already giving me the heebie-jeebies . And what's even scarier is the possibility that some justices want to adopt a radical approach that could lead to life sentences for low-level crimes, like jaywalking or small-time drug offenses . I mean, can you even imagine?! It's time for us to speak up and demand that our justice system protects human rights, not just punishes people
