Twice-deported DUI driver who got off easy after killing 2 California teens gets sent back to slammer

A Mexican national who was previously deported twice for a drunken driving offense that left two California teenagers dead has been sentenced to prison again, this time for crossing the border into the US illegally. Oscar Eduardo Ortega-Anguiano's latest conviction resulted in a three-year and 10-month federal prison sentence.

Following his initial arrest in November 2021, where he was found guilty of driving under the influence (DUI) without a valid license, killing Anya Varfolomeev and Nicholay Osokin on California's Seal Beach Boulevard. He had previously served only 3.5 years of his original 10-year sentence due to 'good behavior' before being released in July. Ortega-Anguiano was re-arrested shortly after for his second DUI offense.

His latest sentencing came after he pleaded guilty to illegally entering the US again, with Judge John Holcomb handing down a 46-month prison term and three years of probation.

πŸ˜’ this guy is like a broken record... I mean, come on, two DUIs? πŸš—πŸ’¨ that's just reckless behavior. And now he's in the States for the third time without proper documentation... it's not just about him, think about the families who have to deal with this kinda stress. 🀯 What's the message here? Does anyone care about public safety anymore? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Wow, that's a crazy case! I mean, dude made some huge mistakes, first DUI and now crossing border without proper papers... 3.5 yrs was a pretty lenient sentence considering the severity of his previous crime, but I guess he got a bit lucky before getting caught again πŸ˜•. Now, 46 months in prison is way more reasonable for someone who's broken the law twice like that πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. It's interesting how some people think they can just get away with stuff and then have to face the music when it catches up to them πŸ’―.

πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ This guy's sentence just don't feel right to me... He's had like two chances already? First DUI that killed two teenagers was pretty severe, but now he's crossing the border again? It feels like the system is giving him too many second chances. And 3 years and 10 months in prison still seems way short considering what he did. 🚫 Not saying he deserves life in prison or anything, but come on... Three convictions and two stints in the slammer isn't exactly a history of 'good behavior'. πŸ˜’

I think this guy's luck ran out 🀯. I mean, come on, two DUIs and two deaths, and you're still crossing borders? It's just not right, ya know? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ Three years for sneaking back in - that's a slap on the wrist compared to what he's already done. And it's not like he's even sorry or anything... I think the system needs some tweaking, you feel me? Maybe they should make the punishment fit the crime or something? πŸ€” Anyway, justice is served, but it feels kinda hollow when you consider all the people who've been affected by his reckless behavior πŸ™.

This guy's just stuck on a cycle of bad decisions... like, he gets deported, serves some time, but then goes back to doing stupid stuff? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ I mean, what's going through this dude's head? Two lives lost, innocent people, and now he's gonna sit in prison for years again. It just feels like a waste of resources and taxpayer money. And the fact that he got out before even finishing his first sentence and then got caught again... it's just so frustrating 🀯. I get that everyone makes mistakes, but this guy's history is just a recipe for disaster. Does anyone think there's more to this story? πŸ€”

omg I cant believe hes been sentenced again 🀯 like what is going on here?! He already served like 3.5 yrs for DUI and killed those two teenagers and now hes getting another 10 yrs but only 3 yrs for crossing the border? seems so unfair to me πŸ˜” im not saying hes innocent or anything but it just feels like he got a slap on the wrist πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I'm so done with people who think it's okay to disregard the rules and put lives at risk πŸ€―πŸš—. I mean, I get that mistakes happen, but when you've been given second chances like Ortega-Anguiano had, it's just not cool to keep messing up like this πŸ˜’. Three DUIs and now breaking the law again? It's a wonder those two teenagers' families are able to sleep at night πŸ™.

I'm also kinda disappointed in our justice system right now πŸ’”. A 3.5 year sentence for driving under the influence is already way too lenient if you ask me βš–οΈ. And now this guy gets another chance to serve time for breaking the law? It just seems like he's getting a free pass πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

I wish more people would think about the impact of their actions on others πŸ’‘. If you're gonna drive drunk, stay out of my way πŸš—! And if you're gonna break the law and put yourself in a situation where someone gets hurt... just be honest with the authorities and face the consequences 🀝.

Man, can't believe this guy's luck πŸ˜’. Three times in, three times out, right? It's like he's got a one-way ticket to prison 🚫. I don't get why he keeps coming back if it's just gonna be more of the same - behind bars and losing his freedom. And what really gets me is that we're wasting taxpayer dollars on this guy's repeated offenses. I mean, I'm not saying he's a lost cause or anything, but come on, three years in for crossing the border? That's some light sentencing if you ask me ⚠️. And don't even get me started on his DUI record - two teenagers dead and now he's getting a slap on the wrist 🀯. Something just doesn't add up here...

.. I'm not sure if this is really fair... Oscar Eduardo Ortega-Anguiano's like, got some serious issues with driving under the influence, right? Two lives lost, two DUIs, and now he's back in the slammer for crossing the border again... but 3 years of probation? πŸ€” It feels like it should be more. I mean, I get that he's trying to turn his life around and all, but this guy has a pattern of behavior that's really concerning. And what about the people who are struggling with addiction or mental health issues? Do we really need to harshen sentences even further? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
