Waymo Hits a Rough Patch In Washington, DC

omg like what's going on with waymo? 🤯 i was like excited to try their robotaxi service but now i'm not sure if it's even happening in dc 🙅‍♂️ i mean don't get me wrong i think autonomous cars are cool and all but the gov is just slowin' everything down, right? 💨

so councilmember charles allen says there's a lack of clear guidelines which kinda makes sense i guess, but what about all the lobbying firms waymo hired to help with that 🤑 it seems like they're tryin' hard but still not gettin' anywhere. 🤦‍♂️

i'm just curious when are we gonna see robotaxi services become a norm? 💸 will it be in dc, london or japan first? 🗺️

I'm low-key bummed that Waymo's robotaxi service is getting stuck in DC 🤔. I mean, who doesn't want to hop in a self-driving car and cruise around the city? It's like they're saying, 'Hey, we've got this thing figured out, no need for you.' But seriously, regulatory issues can be super frustrating, especially when it comes to safety and public trust 🚗💡. I get that DC is trying to figure things out, but a clear plan would be way better than just kicking the can down the road 😊. Maybe Waymo should team up with some local universities or research centers to help figure out how to make this work? 🤝

omg what's up with d.c.? can't even get some basic rules right 🤦‍♂️ waymo has been testing their robotaxis there since 2024 but nothing's happened because of bureaucratic red tape 🚗🕰️ it's like they're trying to slow down innovation for the sake of safety, which is a good thing i guess... but what about all the people who wanna use this service? 🤔 councilmember charles allen is kinda right tho - we need some clear guidelines on how to handle ride-hailing drivers in a world where cars are basically driving themselves 😅 and can't wait for waymo's launch in london later this year 🚀
