We put the new pocket-size vinyl format to the test—with mixed results

The new pocket-size vinyl format, Tiny Vinyl, has been released to the market with mixed results. The 4-inch single records are smaller than standard vinyl but play at the same speed and have the same spindle hole as regular LPs. However, they require manual placement of the tonearm, which can be a challenge for some users.

The sound quality of Tiny Vinyl is not comparable to that of full-size albums or even most 7-inch singles. While it's still enjoyable for casual listeners, audiophiles may find it lacking in terms of sonic fidelity and dynamic range. The records are also relatively expensive compared to standard vinyl singles.

On the other hand, Tiny Vinyl offers several benefits for casual listeners, including a smaller size that can easily fit into pockets or bags, reduced material usage during production, and affordable pricing. The format's gatefold jacket and printed inner sleeve options make it visually appealing, and playing a record on a manual turntable provides an engaging experience.

The main limitation of Tiny Vinyl is its compatibility with automatic-only turntables, which excludes many users who rely on these devices for convenience and ease of use. Furthermore, the price of Tiny Vinyl singles does not significantly differ from those of standard 7-inch singles, making it less attractive to some buyers.

Overall, while Tiny Vinyl has its advantages and disadvantages, its small size, reduced material usage, and affordability make it a fun and unique option for casual listeners who prioritize portability and accessibility over audiophile-grade sound quality.

omg u gotta try tiny vinyl tho! 🤩 i mean its def not gonna blow ur mind like full-size lps but its actually kinda cool that they made it smaller and portable now, like its easy to fit in my backpack or pocket 🎒👜 plus its eco friendly which is a big plus. but idk about the audiophiles tho... i'm all for convenience & ease of use when it comes to listening 2 music 😴 anyway, its def worth checking out if u just wanna have fun with ur vinyl collection

Oh boy, Tiny Vinyl... who thought this was a good idea? 🤣 [GIF of someone trying to place a tonearm on the Tiny Vinyl record]

Pockets for 4-inch records? 😂 Like that's gonna happen!

Manual placement is the new "cool" thing... not 🤷‍♂️

Tiny Vinyl, big price tag! 💸😕

idk what's the point of tiny vinyl tho 🤷‍♂️ they're just smaller versions of regular records... not really worth it for the audiophiles, but i guess casual listeners who wanna carry their tunes around in a pocket-sized format will find 'em entertaining 💡 and yeah, it's still kinda pricey compared to 7-inch singles 🤑

aww, I feel you 🤗... if u r really into vinyl, maybe tiny vinyl's not the best fit 4 u... but hey, at least its smaller & eco-friendly ? 🌎 those manual turntables can be kinda frustrating, tho 😩 i know how annoying it is 2 have to manually place the tonearm every time... but, like, some ppl might actually enjoy that vintage vibe 💫

idk why ppl would wanna carry around these tiny vinyl records tho 🤔 they're like, super small... who needs that much convenience? and the sound quality is just okay, not bad but not life-changing either 🎵 i mean, if u can afford a proper turntable and get decent sound out of it, why bother with this mini version? plus, the price isn't really that different from regular singles... seems like an unnecessary fad to me 🤑

Tiny Vinyl is defo not gonna blow the minds of serious vinyl collectors 🤷‍♂️. I mean, the sound quality is just not there, ya know? It's like a watered-down version of the real deal. But for casual listeners who are all about that portable life, Tiny Vinyl is actually kinda cool 😎. I can see why it'd be perfect for people who just wanna toss a record in their backpack or purse and go 🎸. And let's not forget, it's eco-friendly and affordable - win-win! 👍 The only downside is the manual turntable thingy, which can be a pain for some folks. But overall, Tiny Vinyl is like that one weird cousin at the family reunion - it's quirky, but still kinda cool in its own way 🤪.

omg i just saw tiny vinyl in the music store and i'm intrigued lol 🤔 they're literally so small! idk about the sound quality tho... i mean, it's still cool to listen to, but it's not like a regular record or anything. plus, its super cheap compared to the ones with the fancy jackets 😂 i can see why some people would love it though - its so portable and eco-friendly! 🌿 anyone else tried tiny vinyl yet? 💬

🤔 I mean, I was really excited when I heard about Tiny Vinyl, you know? I love the idea of being able to carry around my favorite records in my pocket or backpack. It's like having a mini-album with me wherever I go! 💥 But at the same time, I'm a bit disappointed that they can't make it sound better than regular vinyl... like, I get what you're going for, but it's still not as good as listening to an album on CD or something. 😐 And don't even get me started on how much they cost! Like, I know they're trying to be eco-friendly and all, but 10 bucks a record is just too much, ya know? 🤑

I guess the thing about Tiny Vinyl that really gets me is that it's like, super niche. You gotta have an old-school manual turntable to even play 'em, which is kinda a bummer for people who are used to just throwing on some music and going. And the gatefold jacket and printed inner sleeve stuff sounds so cool, but if you're gonna charge me 10 bucks for it, I expect more than just "it's small and portable" as an excuse. 🤷‍♀️

Tiny Vinyl is just another gimmick 🤔, right? I mean, who thought it was a good idea to shrink down full-size albums into 4-inch singles that still cost more than regular vinyls? It's like they're trying to sell us on the 'convenience' of carrying around tiny records instead of actually improving sound quality. And don't even get me started on the gatefold jacket and printed inner sleeve – just a fancy way to make us pay more 🤑. But, I guess for casual listeners who just wanna tote around their faves without breaking the bank, Tiny Vinyl's got its perks 🎸. Still not sold on this one myself... 😐

🤔 i think tiny vinyl is kinda cool, but only if you're super casual about music 🎵 like me! the fact that it's so small and affordable makes it perfect for throwing in your bag or backpack when you wanna listen to tunes on the go 📦 plus, it's great for reducing waste and all that eco stuff 💚 but honestly, if you're an audiophile like my friend emily 😒 she gets all salty about the sound quality being not that great... but hey, i get why some people care about that too 🤷‍♀️

🤔 I gotta say, tiny vinyls are kinda cool, but not really my thing. I mean, the design is fire, gatefold jacket and all that... 🎨 But, I don't know how people gonna enjoy listenin' to tunes on a 4-inch record when they can just grab their regular vinyl or cassette (if you're feelin' nostalgic 😎). And $10 for a tiny record? That's like, same price as a standard 7-inch single... 🤑 Not exactly worth the hassle of manually placin' the tonearm every time. But, I guess for those who wanna be all about portability and savin' materials... 🌎 Tiny Vinyls are fine, they're just not my jam 🎶.

I'm not sure I'd call Tiny Vinyl a game-changer 🤔... the sound quality is just not there for me. Like, if you're gonna release a mini version of vinyl, shouldn't it at least try to match the regular stuff? And I get what they're going for with the eco-friendly aspect and all that, but 4 bucks extra for each record feels like a stretch 🤑... anyone else think this is just another example of manufacturers trying to capitalize on vinyl's resurgence without putting in the effort to really improve it?

I gotta say, this Tiny Vinyl thing is like a microcosm of life itself - all the pros and cons are in there! You get to enjoy the convenience and portability, but then you gotta deal with some compromises on sound quality 😊. It's like when we choose between being comfortable (but not too lazy) or pushing ourselves outside our comfort zones for something new 🌈. The gatefold jacket and printed inner sleeve options are like adding that special touch to make it visually appealing, just like how a good friend can elevate our day! 👍 But yeah, let's be real, the price point can be a bit steep for some folks... maybe we can learn to appreciate the value of what we have, rather than always chasing after something new? 🤔

🤔 idk, I mean... Tiny Vinyl is kinda cool, right? 🎶 i love the idea of having a tiny record that's portable & eco-friendly 🌿 but at the same time, I'm all about that audiophile life 💥 and these records just can't compete with full-size albums in terms of sound quality 😔. plus, they're kinda pricey 🤑... but hey, if you're into casual listening & don't care about sonic fidelity, Tiny Vinyl might be a great option 🎵? i guess it's all about prioritizing convenience over pure audio quality 💯... or is it the other way around? 🤷‍♂️

"Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it." 🤔 I gotta say, Tiny Vinyl's got some pros and cons goin' on. While it's not ideal for audiophiles, its portability and eco-friendliness are major wins for casual listeners who just wanna rock out without breakin' the bank or takin' up too much space in their bag 🎸👍

I'm totally fine with the new Tiny Vinyl format... 😐 but honestly, I think it's kinda a scam 🤑. I mean, who needs to pay more just because you want a tiny record that still plays at the same speed as my regular LPs? 🤷‍♂️ The price difference between Tiny Vinyl and standard vinyl singles is pretty small, so what's the point of having a 4-inch single if it's not gonna save me like $5 or something?

But at the same time... 😊 I kinda love the idea of having a tiny record that can fit in my pocket 🎸. It's like a collectible thing, you know? And the gatefold jacket and printed inner sleeve options are pretty cool too 💁‍♂️.

I guess what I'm saying is... 🤔 Tiny Vinyl has its pros and cons, but for me, it's all about the nostalgia factor 😎. I mean, who doesn't love the feeling of holding a record in their hand and admiring the cover art? 📚

idk why ppl are so harsh on tiny vinyl 🤷‍♂️ they're trying to disrupt the industry in a good way, smaller size is def a plus 👍 but yeah, it's not gonna blow ur mind if u r an audiophile like me 🎧 still, i think its cool that they're experimenting with new formats and trying to make music more accessible, especially for ppl who wanna take their faves on the go 💻 tiny vinyl might not be for everyone, but im all about supporting innovation 👍

omg i just saw this tiny vinyl thingy released 🤔, gotta say its kinda cool how they made it smaller but still got the same playback speed lol, but honestly i'm not sure if its worth it for me...i mean i like having my records in my pocket or bag when im out and about, but audiophiles will prob never be happy with this format 🎧...also gotta say i kinda like the gatefold jacket and printed inner sleeve thingy, makes it feel more special than a regular old record 👍, but at the same time, its still pretty pricey if u ask me...anyway, not sure if ill give it a try or just stick with my standard vinyls 😐

I gotta say, I was pretty stoked when Tiny Vinyl first dropped 🤩. The idea of carrying around a mini LP in my pocket is just genius 💡. But, after giving it a spin, I can see why some folks are meh about the sound quality - it's just not on par with the big boys 🎶. I mean, I'm all for portability and saving material, but if you're gonna do vinyl, do it right, ya know? 🤷‍♂️ Still, it's a fun little format that's perfect for, like, on-the-go music lovers or something. And the visuals are super cool, especially with those gatefold jackets 💅. Just don't expect me to trade in my full-size records anytime soon 😜.
