'We're not playing soccer': Dart OK with latest big hit during Giants' loss to streaking Patriots

"We're Not Playing Soccer": Giants Take Hard Hits as Patriots Streak Continues

The New England Patriots continued their dominance, beating the struggling New York Giants 33-15 on Monday night. The win marked the franchise's longest streak since 2015, with coach Mike Vrabel joining a select group of coaches who have achieved this feat in their first season.

Quarterback Drake Maye led the charge, completing 24 of 31 passes for 282 yards with no interceptions. His performance was bolstered by a crucial 94-yard punt return touchdown from Marcus Jones, which put the Patriots up 10-0 early on.

However, it was not all smooth sailing for the Giants. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart returned from a two-game absence due to concussion and took hard hits throughout the game. On one particularly egregious play, Dart was tackled by Patriots linebacker Christian Elliss, who sent him crashing to the turf. The hit sparked a brief shoving match between players, but officials failed to flag it.

Dart's response to the hit has raised questions about player safety in the NFL. "This is football," he said after the game. "I'm going to get hit if I'm in the pocket or outside the pocket. It shouldn't be any shocker to anybody if you followed along with my career. We're not playing soccer out here."

The Giants' struggles continued throughout the game, with a series of special teams mishaps including a botched field goal attempt and a fumbled kickoff return. The team's defense also failed to contain Maye, who eventually led his team to a 30-7 halftime lead.

The Patriots' win marked their 10th straight victory, making them the first NFL team to reach 11 wins this season. As for the Giants, they fell to 2-11 and extended their losing streak to seven games.

I'm loving how intense that game was 🤯! I mean, Drake Maye is on fire right now and it's insane to think he's only in his rookie season. But at the same time, can't they just be a bit more careful with Jaxson Dart? That hit by Christian Elliss had to hurt, man 😬. It's like, yeah we get that it's football, but come on, there's gotta be some boundaries right? 🤷‍♂️ I'm not saying the Giants aren't trying hard enough, but this is starting to feel like they're getting caught in a tough catch... no pun intended 📺. Anyway, Patriots are killing it and I'm here for it 👏!

I don’t usually comment but I'm really concerned about that last hit on Jaxson Dart 🤕 it looks super scary... like he's right saying we're not playing soccer out here 😩 the NFL needs to do something about player safety ASAP 💪 and all these special teams mishaps for the Giants just makes me wanna cry 😭

🤦‍♂️ I mean come on, player safety has got to be a priority in the NFL. Dart's comments about it not being soccer out here hit way too close to home 🏈. All these concussions and hard hits can't be good for their long-term health. It's like they're saying "it's just football" - yeah, I get it, but that doesn't make it right 💔. We need better rules and regulations in place to protect the players, especially the young ones who are getting hurt too early 🤕. The NFL needs to step up their game when it comes to player safety 🏈💪

I'm getting so frustrated with all these big hits in football games 🤕. I mean, I know it's a tough sport and injuries are gonna happen but come on! It looks like Jaxson Dart was really getting smashed around out there 😷. And what really bothered me is that the refs missed some pretty obvious penalties, especially that one hit where Christian Elliss tackled him hard 🚫. I get that football can be rough but we've got to make sure our players are safe too 💪. Dart said "we're not playing soccer" and I'm like yeah, okay, you're right! It's a contact sport, but that doesn't mean we have to sit back and do nothing about it 🙄. The Patriots are having an amazing season but can't they just use their success to bring some positive change to the game? 🤞

omg what's going on with that jaxson dart 😩 he just got hit so hard in that game it was insane... i feel bad for him but like the dude said we're not playing soccer out here 🏈💪 maybe they need to work on those tackling skills or something? and can't believe how well drake maye played his team is killing it this season 💥👏
