Your Guardian sport weekend: Premier League, Australian Open and NFL title games

The Premier League is set to kick off on a busy Saturday with five matches, including a lunchtime game at the London Stadium as West Ham face Sunderland. Régis Le Bris's side are looking to win consecutive league games for just the second time this season, but are without a victory in six on the road.

Meanwhile, in tennis, day seven at Melbourne sees some big names in action as Jannick Sinner and Novak Djokovic go head-to-head in the men's draw. The Swiss player Stan Wawrinka is also set to face off against Taylor Fritz of the US in what will be the first player to reach the third round at a grand slam past his 40th birthday since Ken Rosewall at the same tournament back in 1978.

In women's tennis, Iga Swiatek and Naomi Osaka are among those competing, with Aryna Sabalenka set to take on Coco Gauff. In football, Arsenal face Manchester United in what will be a highly anticipated match against old rivals. Mikel Arteta will be wary of Michael Carrick's revamped United side after their 2-0 derby victory last Sunday.

The American Football League (NFL) playoffs are also underway with the AFC championship game between the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots set to take place at 8pm, while the NFC decider between the Seattle Seahawks and Rams will be played at 11.30pm.

🏟️ I'm so excited for this weekend's Premier League matches! West Ham vs Sunderland should be a good game, especially since they're looking to win back-to-back games... 🤞 Fingers crossed for their fans!

It's also awesome that Jannick Sinner and Novak Djokovic are playing in the tennis. I've always been fascinated by their serves - I mean, who can hit a ball at 150 mph? 😲 That Stan Wawrinka is going to be interesting... making it to the third round at 40+ years old is no joke!

And can we talk about how fast women's tennis players are getting?! Iga Swiatek and Naomi Osaka are literally on another level... 🤯 But hey, Aryna Sabalenka vs Coco Gauff should be a fun match too! 👀

The Premier League matches are always so much fun to watch with family, especially when we're cheering for our favorite teams. 😊 And the NFL playoffs look like they'll have some intense games... did you catch the derby win between Manchester United and Arsenal last week? 🏈

Saturday's gonna be lit 💥! Got my money on Arsenal to take down United, been watching some highlights from their derby win last week and Carrick's tactics are gonna give them a run for their money 🤔. Also thinking about Djokovic vs Sinner, these guys are on fire 🔥. And don't sleep on that AFC championship game, Broncos and Pats always bring the heat 💪. Wonder if West Ham can finally get back to winning ways against Sunderland 🤞.

🤔 so like west ham's chances against sunderland? 🏆 they need to get back to winning ways ASAP or else they'll drop even further in the table... 💥 just checked stats, Sunderland's home record is actually pretty weak this season, only 2 wins from their last 5 games 😐

anyway, tennis fans out there, I think Djokovic's got this one in the bag 🙌 he's been looking sharp so far and his serve's gonna be a major problem for sinner... 🎾 also, can't wait to see how sabalenka does against gauff 🤔 her stats are insane! 🔥

and american football... bruh, those nfl playoffs are heating up 🔥 denver vs patriots is gonna be EPIC 😲 who's got the edge? 💯 let's get the stats on that too 📊

omg this saturday is gonna be lit 🤩 i cant w8 for that man u vs arsenal match, mikel arteta's gonna need to bring his a-game if he wants to take down ol rival michael carrick 🙅‍♂️ also tennis fans will love the matchup between jannick sinner and novak djokovic, whoever wins tho, cant wait 2 c how iga swiatek and naomi osaka go up against each other in womens tennis 🎾

Man, can't wait for the weekend's matches! 🏟️🎾 I've got my money on West Ham to pull off a win against Sunderland, they've been doing alright this season 😊. And in tennis, I'm loving the drama between Sinner and Djokovic - these guys are gonna give it their all ⚡️! Meanwhile, I'm a bit sad that Stan Wawrinka is struggling to make an impact at his age 🤕. On a lighter note, who's ready for some football? That Arsenal vs Man United match is gonna be EPIC 🔥! And can we talk about how hyped the NFL playoffs are? Broncos and Patriots going head-to-head - bring it on! ⚡
