Zelensky thanks Trump as US leader accuses Ukraine of showing 'zero gratitude'

US President Donald Trump has walked a tightrope regarding Ukraine, praising the country's leadership while also expressing dissatisfaction. During talks in Geneva to discuss an end to the conflict, Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's administration for showing "zero gratitude" towards US efforts to bring about peace.

However, just hours later, Zelensky fired back, stating that Ukraine is deeply grateful to the United States and its people, as well as personally to Trump. The Ukrainian president acknowledged the significant assistance provided by the US, including the delivery of Javelin missiles that have helped save countless lives.

The Geneva talks saw top officials from both sides working to fine-tune a 28-point draft plan aimed at ending the nearly four-year conflict with Russia. While the current version still requires Ukraine to make concessions – including ceding territory and pledging not to join NATO – it largely aligns with Kyiv's key priorities.

According to negotiator Rustem Umerov, the revised document reflects most of Ukraine's key demands, which have been at the forefront of negotiations. Trump has set a deadline for Ukraine to approve the plan by November 27, but he also indicated that there could be some flexibility around this timeframe.

Trump's stance on Ukraine has shifted significantly since taking office in his second term. He initially boasted about ending the conflict within 24 hours, only to express admiration for Russian President Putin and criticize Zelensky as a "dictator." However, Trump has also imposed major sanctions on Russia and hinted at Ukraine potentially regaining control over some of its lost territory.

In a bid to regain favor with Trump, Zelensky has made efforts to thank the US leader. The Ukrainian president's public expression of gratitude highlights the delicate balance between appeasing the US and asserting Ukraine's interests in the ongoing conflict.

Its really wild how fast things can change in diplomacy πŸ’₯! Trump's stance on Ukraine is like, totally flip-floppy - one day he's all about Zelensky's leadership, the next he's calling him out for showing "zero gratitude" πŸ€”. I mean, you'd think that with all the help the US has provided to Ukraine (like those Javelin missiles!), they'd be way more thankful 😊.

And can we talk about how Trump's demands are kinda one-sided? Like, Ukraine is supposed to make concessions and cede territory without even getting much in return πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Meanwhile, the US is all like "we're gonna help you out, but only if you do this" πŸ€‘. It feels like they're trying to play both sides against each other.

Ukraine's got a tough spot to be in - they need the US' support to take on Russia, but at the same time, they don't want to lose their sovereignty or independence πŸ’ͺ. Its a delicate balance for sure.

Wow πŸ’₯! Trump is being super tricky with Ukraine, you feel? One day he's praising Zelensky, next he's blasting him like a dictator... what's up with that? πŸ€” And now he's trying to get Ukraine to cave on some major points, but also leaving room for them to negotiate? Interesting πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. I don't think Zelensky is wrong to express his gratitude though - those Javelin missiles have saved so many lives πŸ’₯. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how this whole thing plays out...

OMG 🀯 I'm literally so confused about this whole situation! πŸ˜‚ Like, Trump is saying one thing and then Zelensky is like "wait what?" πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ And can we talk about how crazy it is that Ukraine has to cede territory? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I mean, isn't that kinda like... ummm not cool? πŸ˜’ But at the same time, I'm all for peace and all that jazz ❀️. Can we just get this done already?! ⏰ It's been ages since this conflict started and it's still ongoing... like, what's up with that?! πŸ€” Anywayz, I'm kinda rooting for Ukraine right now πŸ’ͺ. They're the good guys in this situation! πŸ‘ And btw, can we pls talk about how cute Rustem Umerov is? 😍 He's like, the ultimate negotiator 😊.

I think Trump is being super contradictory on this whole Ukraine situation πŸ€”. Like, one minute he's giving props to Zelensky for his leadership, and the next he's calling him out for not showing enough gratitude towards the US? It doesn't add up, you know?

And what's with all these concessions Ukraine has gotta make? I mean, isn't that kinda like asking a friend to do some serious favors without even getting anything in return? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Trump's trying to sell this 28-point plan as if it's super fair and balanced, but let's be real, it's all about getting Ukraine to agree to some major compromises.

I'm not sure what's going on with Trump's priorities, but I do know that Zelensky's been playing the diplomacy game really well. The guy's trying to get ahead of this by thanking Trump in public, which is probably just a way to keep the US happy for now 🀞. It's all about finding that balance between appeasing Trump and keeping Ukraine's interests on track.

πŸ˜’ I feel like this whole thing is just a game... President Trump praises Ukraine one day, then criticizes their leadership the next... It's like he can't make up his mind. And what really gets me is that Zelensky fires back and says Ukraine is grateful to him, but it feels like there's still so much uncertainty here. I mean, we're talking about lives on the line - people have died because of this conflict. Can't they just focus on finding a solution? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ It's like they're trying to dance around each other... Do you remember when Clinton and Yeltsin used to work together to resolve the Balkans crisis? That was a different time... πŸ•°οΈ

omg, this whole thing is like soooo complicated 🀯... i mean, trump is walking this thin line between praising zelensky's admin and also kinda dissin' them at the same time πŸ€”. but what really gets me is how zelensky's team is all like "hey, we appreciate the us help" and then also like "no, we're good with our own plans" πŸ’ͺ.

anywayz, i think it's pretty cool that ukraine has been able to make some gains in the negotiations πŸŽ‰. and let's be real, the javelin missiles have literally saved so many lives over there πŸ’₯. but at the same time, trump's all like "you gotta do this" and zelensky's all like "nope, not gonna happen" πŸ˜’. it's like they're speaking different languages or somethin' πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

i guess what i'm sayin is that this whole thing is a delicate dance between ukraine tryin to get its own stuff done and trump tryin to keep the us in the game πŸ•Ί. but hey, at least zelensky's showin some love to trump, right? πŸ€—

πŸ€” I think it's kinda tricky for both sides. On one hand, Trump is trying to be all buddy with Putin and end the conflict ASAP, but then he's still demanding Ukraine make some major concessions. Meanwhile, Zelensky is trying to show that Ukraine appreciates US help, which is totally fair, right? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ It's like they're dancing around each other, not quite sure who's in charge or what's going on. But I guess that's how it works with geopolitics, right? πŸ˜’ Sometimes you gotta make tough choices and put aside your own feelings to get something done.

πŸ€” I think it's pretty telling that Trump is trying to walk this tightrope, praising Zelensky one day and then criticizing him the next. Like, what's up with that? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ It seems like he's just trying to get Ukraine to do his bidding without actually committing to anything concrete. And honestly, it's kinda weird that they're even negotiating around some major concessions - I mean, isn't Ukraine basically already fighting for its life over here? 😬

But at the same time, you can appreciate Zelensky's efforts to show gratitude and appreciation for US support. Like, that missile delivery has been a game-changer in the conflict, right? πŸš€ So it's cool that he's trying to acknowledge the help they've received. But also, I get why he'd want to push back against some of these concessions - after all, Ukraine needs to protect its sovereignty and interests too.

It's just...the whole thing feels like a big game of chicken, where Trump is basically saying "you gotta do this, or else" without actually threatening any real consequences. πŸ“ Like, what's the endpoint here? What does it mean for Ukraine if they agree to all these terms? πŸ€”

so trump is walking a tightrope on ukraine like he's on american idol 🀣, but for real tho, why cant he make up his mind? 28 point draft plan, yeah right, sounds like something from a bad negotiating game of risk 🎲, and now zelensky fires back, gotta respect the dude's gratitude vibes πŸ’―. btw, javelin missiles saved lives, that's some cool stuff πŸš€
