Walmart celebrates Major League Soccer

Walmart is set to bring Major League Soccer (MLS) fans together every Saturday with a new weekly marquee matchup, dubbed the Walmart Saturday Showdown. The initiative, announced in partnership with MLS, will spotlight one featured match each Saturday during the regular soccer season, providing an enhanced broadcast experience on Apple TV and MLS platforms.

The inaugural showdown slate features five weekend and early-season matchups, including high-profile matches like LAFC vs. Inter Miami CF and Real Salt Lake vs. Seattle Sounders FC. These games will be showcased with a unique "Shot on iPhone" view, which captures key moments using dynamic camera angles to highlight the speed, skill, and emotion of the game.

The Walmart Saturday Showdown events aim to improve access and foster a sense of community among fans by providing a consistent and shareable weekly matchday. According to William White, Walmart's chief marketing officer, the show is designed to connect more people with the league's most exciting matchups and support the traditions that make soccer culture so engaging.

Camilo Durana, MLS executive vice president, echoed this sentiment, stating that the launch of the Walmart Saturday Showdown exemplifies how the organization continues to create new experiences for fans through an occasion they can plan for every Saturday. With this initiative, MLS is committed to elevating its match weeks' most exciting storylines and inspiring a sense of community that will last throughout the 2026 season.

The FIFA World Cup, jointly hosted by 16 cities – 11 in the United States, three in Mexico, and two in Canada – is set to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026. With the Walmart Saturday Showdown, MLS fans can look forward to an exciting new way to experience their favorite matches every Saturday.

I'm loving this idea 🀩! As a huge soccer fan myself, I think it's awesome that Walmart is bringing more excitement to the league. Having one big match each week will definitely give fans something to buzz about πŸ˜†. And can you imagine watching those LAFC vs Inter Miami CF games on Apple TV? Game day just got a whole lot better πŸ“Ί! The "Shot on iPhone" view sounds like a nice touch too - I mean who doesn't love a good dynamic camera angle πŸ’₯. It's all about community and sharing the experience, so fingers crossed it'll get everyone hyped for those Saturday Showdowns πŸŽ‰!

OMG I'm so stoked about the Walmart Saturday Showdown!!! 🀩 It's like, finally something exciting happening in my life besides midterms and exams 😴. Can you imagine watching some sick MLS matches on Apple TV with friends every Saturday? It's gonna be lit πŸ’₯. And I love how they're doing it with that "Shot on iPhone" view - it sounds so cool! πŸ“Έ The fact that it's all about community and making soccer culture more engaging is totally on point too πŸ‘. Now, if only we could get a discount on tickets to these matches πŸ˜‚...

omg i'm so stoked for this 😍!! i've been waiting for mls to step up its game and give us more excitement on saturdays!!! i love that they're doing a weekly showdown with the shot on iphone view, it's gonna be lit πŸ“ΈπŸŸοΈ! i've got my squad ready to binge watch these games every week, we'll have our own little mls party πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸ‘―β€β™€οΈ!! and can you believe the matchups?!?! lafc vs inter miami cf is like, my favorite team vs my fave team πŸ˜‚πŸ’₯! this is gonna be the best saturday experience ever!!! πŸŽ‰

I'm so down for this! 🀩 A weekly marquee matchup is a sick idea. It's gonna be awesome to see these high-profile matches on Apple TV and have that "Shot on iPhone" view. I mean, who doesn't love the dynamic camera angles? πŸ’₯ It's all about bringing fans together, and I think it's a great way to do that. Plus, it's always exciting to watch those LAFC vs Inter Miami CF games πŸ†. The idea of having a consistent weekly matchday is genius too. It's like, you know exactly what you're getting every Saturday 😎. And with the FIFA World Cup coming up in 2026, this is just the boost we need to get us pumped for it πŸ”₯. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how this all plays out πŸ“Ί

I'm not sure about this one... I mean, I love soccer and all, but is it really necessary to have a 'weekly marquee matchup'? It just seems like another thing for me to keep track of on top of my already busy schedule. And what's with the 'Shot on iPhone' view? Is that just a fancy way of saying they're using iPhones to film the game?

I do love that Walmart is supporting this initiative, though - it's awesome that they're bringing fans together and making soccer more accessible for everyone. I think what I'd really like to see is some better commentary and analysis during these matches. It feels like a lot of games are just about the excitement of watching the players run around on the field... what's going on behind the scenes?

And can we talk about the schedule for a sec? Five weekend and early-season matchups? That's already gonna be tough to keep up with, especially if you've got other family obligations or stuff. I'm not sure how many people are actually going to be able to make it to these matches every week. πŸ€”

🏟️ I think this is a perfect example of the "socialist" approach vs the "capitalist" way... πŸ˜‚ Just kidding! But seriously, it's interesting that Walmart, as a large corporation, wants to get into the soccer business by sponsoring a weekly matchup. Is this just another attempt to boost their brand and sell more merchandise? πŸ›οΈ Or are they genuinely trying to make soccer more accessible and engaging for fans? πŸ’‘ Either way, I think it's a win-win for MLS and its fans! But what about the ownership model of the teams? Shouldn't we be concerned about the influence of big corporations like Walmart on our sporting institutions? πŸ€”

omg I just got a new iPhone πŸ“± and I'm so excited to try out that "Shot on iPhone" view for the soccer games πŸ†πŸ’¨ is it gonna be like playing FIFA on my phone or something? πŸ€” anyway, I love how they're making MLS more fun for fans πŸŽ‰ my brother's a huge LAFC fan and he'll totally be hyped about the LAFC vs Inter Miami CF game πŸš€ what's with all the games happening every Saturday tho? can't we just have one big matchday per week or something? πŸ˜‚

I'm loving this idea! πŸ’₯ But have you guys thought it's just a bunch of hype? Like, what's in it for us common fans? Is it just gonna be some fancy camera angles and a more "organized" viewing experience? πŸ€” I mean, we already get to watch our faves play on TV... What's the real prize here? πŸ€‘

Wow 🀩 interesting how Walmart is bringing soccer fans together with this weekly showdown, it's a great way to make the game more accessible and fun for everyone! The "Shot on iPhone" view sounds so cool, can't wait to see those dynamic camera angles in action πŸ“ΈπŸ†

OMG 🀩, I'm so stoked about this new initiative! πŸŽ‰ The idea of a weekly showdown is genius πŸ’‘, it's gonna bring together all the soccer fans on Saturdays and create this amazing community vibe 🌐. I mean, who doesn't love watching their favorite team crush it on TV every weekend? πŸ˜† And can we talk about how lit πŸ”₯ the "Shot on iPhone" view is gonna be? It's gonna highlight those sick skills and dramatic moments in a whole new way πŸ“Έ.

I'm also loving that Walmart is getting behind this, they're really stepping up their game πŸ’ͺ. It's all about creating these memorable experiences for fans, and I think it's gonna pay off big time πŸ€‘. Can't wait to see the excitement build around every matchday! πŸ’₯

So they're doing this Walmart Saturday Showdown thing now? πŸ€” I'm not sure why it's a big deal but apparently it's going to bring fans together or something. From what I've seen, it's just five high-profile games on Apple TV and MLS platforms, which is pretty standard for soccer matches anyway. The "Shot on iPhone" view sounds like some fancy marketing gimmick πŸ“Έ. I mean, I guess if you're an LAFC or Inter Miami fan, this might be the highlight of your weekend. But it's not like they're going to change the game or anything (pun intended). And what's up with the emphasis on community? Can't fans already plan their own little get-togethers? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Still, if it gets more people watching MLS matches, I guess that's a plus. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is going to be big, so maybe this is an attempt to boost interest beforehand? We'll see how that plays out. ⚽️

I'm not sure how I feel about this... I mean, it sounds like a great idea to bring people together for soccer, but are we just going to be flooded with commercials and ads? πŸ€‘πŸ‘€ I also wonder if the "Shot on iPhone" view is really going to enhance our viewing experience or if it's just a gimmick. I guess what bothers me is that we're getting sold this as some big community-building thing, but are we really connecting with anything meaningful? And what about the lower-ranked teams? Are they still going to get the spotlight or do we have to wait until the Walmart Sunday Showdown... πŸ€”

πŸ€” I mean, think about it... they're pushing MLS games on Apple TV and making them super shareable... that's not a coincidence. It's like they're trying to normalize soccer in the US or something. And have you noticed how all these major sports leagues are teaming up with big corporations? It's like they're all being controlled from behind the scenes... πŸ€‘ Walmart wants more than just sales, I'm sure. They want to own your Saturday afternoons too. 😏

I'm so down for this 🀩! Walmart bringing soccer together every Saturday sounds like a blast! I remember back in my day, we'd all gather 'round the TV on Saturdays to watch Premier League or FA Cup matches with our mates. It was always a big deal, you know? Now, it's awesome that MLS is getting in on the action and making it more accessible for fans. The "Shot on iPhone" view sounds sick too πŸ“Έ - I love how they're using dynamic camera angles to capture the excitement of the game! It's gonna be lit watching these matches every Saturday πŸ’₯. Can't wait to see my faves go head-to-head, like LAFC vs Inter Miami CF πŸ”₯!

🏟️ idk why walmart got involved in soccer but if its gonna make mls games more interesting then im down for it! πŸ€” theyre really trying to connect fans and make them feel part of something, which is kinda cool 😊 the shot on iphone view sounds like a sick way to capture the action...and who doesn't love saturdays? πŸ“†

Aww, I'm so stoked for all you soccer fans out there! 🌟 This new feature is going to bring everyone together to cheer on their fave teams and make the game day experience even more lit! πŸ’₯ The idea of a weekly showdown with a "Shot on iPhone" view sounds so cool – it's like they're capturing the magic of the game right in front of your eyes. πŸ“Έ Can't wait to see all the high-profile matches, LAFC vs Inter Miami CF and Real Salt Lake vs Seattle Sounders FC are going to be epic! 😍

Man, this is gonna be epic! I love how Walmart is getting in on the soccer action and bringing more people into the fold πŸ“ΊπŸ‘ The "Shot on iPhone" view sounds crazy cool - imagine those dynamic camera angles capturing all the action on a Saturday night πŸŽ₯πŸ’₯. And with high-profile matches like LAFC vs Inter Miami, it's gonna be a weekend to beat πŸ˜†. I'm also stoked that MLS is making an effort to create more community around the games - it's all about that soccer culture vibe 🌟. The timing is perfect too, with the FIFA World Cup just around the corner... can you imagine the hype?! 🀩
